My cans are in excellent condition. I love lentils, and eat them as often as possible. I add them to everything, I make burgers with them, or I add them to stretch ground meat, soups, salads, and so on and so on. I usually just make them from a bag as lentils cook up real quick. Save a lot over buying canned. But I wanted some canned to round out my pantry, especially in case of emergency. But really for added convenience. I have to say, I am only getting canned lentils because they are from Goya. I find that Goya tends to pack their cans to the brim, without much left over liquid. Other brands (for beans, lentils) will be same weight, but there is a lot of liquid. Not with Goya.

I ordered these at the request of my vegetarian daughter (home for the summer) for canned lentils. I don’t think she likes them very much bkuz she hasn’t opened very many in the almost two months since they arrived.

Bolo packed 5 boxes of Rice Chex in the same box with this heavy 24-can box of Goya lentils. The lentils were so heavy they crushed the boxes of Rice Chex, popped the plastic bags the cereal was in, and made a big mess with all the crushed cereal. Bolo usually does a good job of packing its merchandise, so this was unusual and disappointing. I wanted to call attention to it so, hopefully, it won't happen again. This will also serve as a warning to other customers not to purchase such heavy items in the same order as light/fragile/delicate items which can be easily crushed or broken. It is best to purchase them separately so they arrive in different shipments - not the same box.These lentils also have an excessive amount of salt in them. I wish Goya would reduce the amount of salt or, better yet, make a salt-free version of their lentils and beans.

These arrived in perfect condition, and are easy to use, taste pretty good. I have a bad tract record trying to Cook any lentils and decided to resort to using canned ones. Then about a month ago, i came upon a recipe for instant pot lentils that resulted in perfectly cooked lentils. Isn’t that typical? Still these are good when i need to make a quick meal…

These lentils are a solid buy. Add to a dish or a salad or a soup. And to those who think they are a little mushy, they are not; any cooked canned or bottled lentils will have this consistency -- treat them with care and gently mix or they will get smashed. The taste is exactly how they should taste.
