I use the breathalyzer as another tool to help stay sober. I found that by sending a daily snapshot to a family member was a good way to stay accountable. It sounds too simple to be helpful but it really has.Setup was simple. Small and portable. The app gives simple instructions on when to blow and then provides a screen detailing your reading and estimated time to become sober. I take a snapshot with my phone and send it via text to my folks.The "Professional Calibration" is not really necessary if for personal use. So far it's working as it should. Its easy to use and I've had no issues. Accurate readings. The linking to the app was kind of funky and switching from not being linked to the app is a little wonky.

I've been using the BACtrack C6 Keychain Breathalyzer for a few weeks now, and I have to say, I'm really impressed. It's small and lightweight, so I can easily take it with me wherever I go. It's also very easy to use. Just blow into the mouthpiece for a few seconds, and the BACtrack C6 will give you your blood alcohol content (BAC) reading in seconds.The BACtrack C6 is also incredibly accurate. I've tested it against other breathalyzers, and it's always been within 0.01% of the other readings. This means that I can trust the BACtrack C6 to give me an accurate reading of my BAC, even if I've been drinking.But the best thing about the BACtrack C6 is that it's just so darn funny. I mean, seriously, look at it! It's like a little breathalyzer clown car. And the mouthpiece? It's like a tiny little circus tent.I don't know what it is about the BACtrack C6, but it just makes me laugh. Every time I use it, I can't help but smile. And that's a good thing, right? When I first received mine, I loved having it so I could have the peace of mind that I was safe to drive. However, over time (and not that long either - like a few months), it started to seem less accurate. At first I thought perhaps the drinks were weak at a particular bar and that explained why perhaps I blew a lower number than I thought I would. However, when I put it to the test while I was knowingly absolutely drunk, it showed a .01 reading. If you look deep in the instruction manual, the manufacturer suggests calibrating the unit every 6 months. Well, calibration cost $20 each time plus the hassle of having to ship it to them and wait 2-3 weeks for them to return it to you; only to have to repeat that every few months. Plus, since the calibration seems to slip a little with each use, it gives me no confidence whatsoever in the accuracy of the reading so my feeling is that it is more accurate and reliable to simply count drinks and stick to the one drink per hour rule, etc. If it did not require calibration or even if the calibration could be done easily by me at home, I would say this is a great product. However, I can not endorse it due to the need for such frequent calibration. Useless and could even be dangerous by giving people false low readings and making them think they are safe and legal to drive when they are actually not.

Item was defective on arrival, and will not function, showing only [ERROR: TEMPERATURE] despite both indoor and outdoor ambient temperatures being well within the stated operating range. Cannot be returned, although Bolo did issue me a refund for a defective product.I may order a replacement and may update this review if I do.UPDATE: I ordered a replacement and it works as intended. Just bad luck on the first unit I received, I guess.
Doesn’t work - shows ERROR at all time
Very poor product. I followed carefully the instructions and this product just doesn’t work. We couldn’t manage to have another reading than ‘ERROR’. Seriously, for that price tag, that’s quite bad.
Fantastic. Same results as a standard police issue breathalyzer
Very accurate. Tested against a police issue breathalyzer. The same results. App based too so if you dink regular and you want to monitor your situation over weeks or months then this is a great little breathalyzer. .
