The Mole Poblano (originally from the city of Puebla) or Mole Sauce is the National dish of Mexico and is reserved for special occasions. It is a meal that demands long preparation time and requires the use of a number of culinary skills. Mole was refined by the nuns of the Order of Santa Rosa in the City of Puebla in central Mexico to impress visiting politicial and church officials in the 17th century. Some consider mole paste the first barbeque sauce because of how it is used and on what kinds of foods it is applied.

I'm p.o.'d that my local grocery stores carry this brand anymore, because it is by far, the very best brand ever!! A bit more expensive online that they were in the grocery stores. I've used this product for years and it's always been delicious. I was going to make my Christmas Mole today and my mom just happened to be reading the label on the jar which now has a warning on a white strip with black letters. The warning states that consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including lead and lead components which are known to cause cancer and birth defects. Since I can't return this item I tossed it all out and I'm never buying this brand again!! Simply Horrible!!

A paste is not liquified and do not like the favor. I order the sauce for Mole a Mexican dish.Also i can was leaking and the website said CANNOT return.
