It keeps them entertained and works for all kinds of games—basketball, soccer, keep-away, you name it. It’s especially fun with a group (three or more is ideal), but even solo, it’s still a blast. Just make sure to fill the ball completely with water—if there’s even a little bit of air left inside, it’ll float instead of sinking like it’s supposed to. Once it’s filled properly, though, this thing is unbeatable. Highly recommend it—kids are going to love it!Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product stood out. Most pool toys are all the same, and I wanted to get my kids something new and unique. And as soon as I saw the Watermelon Ball, I knew that it was the one.Durability:The material of the ball is really durable; a hole in the ball seems very unlikely.Ease of assembly:It's very easy to fill with water. It's the same thing as filling up a pool float with air, except with water.

My kids love the watermelon ball for our pool. They enjoy seeing how far they can throw it and dribbling it under water. It was easy and quick to fill and it is the perfect size for both my 5 and 9 year old enjoy it.

Cleverly made and durable. These water filled walls are the head of the season for the kids during pool time. They are exactly as described. A thing to consider, though is that the larger one is heavy and hard for the little ones to hold or throw.

It does as advertised. You can bounce it off the walls of your pool, off the bottom and floats back up. My four year old even says it smells like a watermelon, i disagree. But the point is they had fun with it. The only reason I give it 4 stats is its not as easy to throw under water as they make it seem.

I wanted something unique and fun for the pool. I was a little worried this was going to be over priced. The reviews talked me into giving it a try. So glad I did! Tons of fun in the pool. We have made some new games up, given it nicknames and it just arrived today. I recommend the pack with the regular and the neon Jr. The different sizes and colors make for silly game options. Can also use for water aerobics. Absolutely worth the price. I am proud of my purchase and I don't even have kids.

The kids love these dang things! Buy the 2 pack!! Only problem is you have to make sure they don’t throw them from out of the water. They are heavy! Oddly enough they play with the smaller one most.

My wife bought this after reading that it was well reviewed...we don't quite get it. So here goes...It seems well made, like I would expect of a watermelon themed pool toy that you fill with water. Once the water goes in, this thing is HEAVY. Like gallon or two of milk heavy. Drop it in the pool, it slowly rises up (I think - nobody knows exactly what you are suppose to do with it). My 9 and 13 year old daughters like that novelty of it. And they particularly rejoice in inducing cringes from us as they try to lob it towards each other...again, this thing is heavy. Playtime with goes something like this:- One sibling acquires it randomly from side of pool after observing other peacefully floating on a tube- Said sibling menaces the other one with it in a threatening manner- Mom or dad go "ummmm...be careful throwing that at your sister"- Offending offspring launch it anyhow shot put style at general direction of other sibling- Because it is so heavy, it falls way short with a huge splash- Kids then ignore it because it isn't worth the effort to lift the payload out of the water- Repeat 40 minutes laterSo, it is fun to have I guess, but not sure we really know how to engage the thing.And it is heavy...if one of them manages to air assault torpedo the other one while floating in a tube, they are going to feel it. The picture on the item listing shows some ripped dude swimming underwater with it. No doubt he got that muscular if he swam laps with this sucker. A more accurate picture would be showing a 9 year old girl holding it over her head two handed about to launch it ICBM style at her older sister. If you want to appreciate the carnage it is capable of, next time you go to pour yourself a frothy glass of milk to drink with your Oreos, look at the gallon of moo juice in your hand...and imagine hurling it towards one of your offspring. Why is this such a popular pool toy? I have no idea. but they played with some once and then all they could talk about for 2 summers was getting another watermelon ball. I ran across them by chance on Bolo and so I bought them. And they are so popular.

They have just put in a swimming pool and I knew they would get a lot of ordinary pool toys for Christmas. I thought that this was different enough to create a bit of excitement. I wasn't wrong! The three grandchildren are all loving it and the ability to play with it underwater. It definitely outshone the other pool toys on offer! Would recommend.
