Kodak Ektar 100 135-36 (Pack of 3)
Reviews:
5.0 out of 5 stars Ektar exclusively for my 1984 Leica M6
Photography isn’t just about capturing a moment; it’s about rendering time immortal. For me, digital cameras and smartphones are nothing more than lifeless collectors of data—soulless tools that rob the world of its texture. My weapon of choice? A 1984 Leica M6, paired exclusively with the legendary Kodak Ektar 100 film, the world's finest grain color negative film. This film has accompanied me across terrains where no pixel has dared tread. In the highlands of Patagonia, I captured the icy blue that only glacial waters can offer—Ektar rendered it not as a memory, but as an eternal truth, sharp and vivid as the mountain air. In Morocco’s labyrinthine souks, the reds, golds, and deep indigos of handwoven rugs burst forth, their vibrance as alive on the film as they were in the shadows of those ancient markets. The Ektar 100 boasts grain so fine it’s practically invisible—a feat of chemistry that feels more like alchemy. Its ultra-vivid colors make landscapes sing, while its sharpness preserves the razor-thin edge of every dune and leaf. On one trek through the dense jungles of Borneo, I captured a hornbill mid-flight. Each feather was as distinct as the stories etched on the faces of the villagers I met along the way.A satellite phone may find its way into my pack, but I would sooner abandon my compass than replace film with digital. To photograph with film is to pay homage to the beauty of craftsmanship—both in the moments you capture and in the materials you trust to preserve them.Ektar is a statement. It’s for those who refuse to surrender to the disposable culture of convenience, who understand that real photography is not instant gratification but an act of reverence. My Leica and I have seen many things, but it is Ektar 100 that ensures the world remembers them as they were meant to be seen.So take up your analog camera, load it with this film, and walk into the world—not to capture it, but to honor it, and feel the final result between your fingers. Some things are too beautiful to be reduced to megapixels in the cloud.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great film!
Nice film with great colors and sharpness. Recomended!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Street and Landscape Photography
It’s incredibly sharp and awesome. I have been using Ektar 100 for years in both formats of 135 and 120. Ektar is one of my favorite films for golden hour. (Photos are from Lahaina, a few months prior to the devastation.)
5.0 out of 5 stars You can find far better pricing elsewhere
This is some of my favorite film. The warmth, the grain, the image quality with a good camera. This film really is made for bright daylight photography, but it still looks very beautiful with a flash indoors. You would be better off buying this somewhere else though as the price is most consistently somewhere between 13 and $14 per roll.
5.0 out of 5 stars Vivid colorful photos
Great film if you want bright vivid colors-shot on an AE-1
4.0 out of 5 stars Best 35mm Landscape Film on the Market
Last summer I took a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a week and wanted to try some film photography. I have shot digital for 5 years or so, but I really wanted to try some 35mm film. I used a Konica Autoreflex-TC that my neighbor gifted me on this trip. What I can say about Ektar is it produces beautiful and vivid colors with great natural contrast. The grain is very fine, and as the package says, it is indeed the finest grained 35mm film on the market. WARNING: Some sources say Ektar is picky with exposure, while others say it has an insane latitude. I tend to agree with the former. In my experience with this film, when shooting in higher contrast situations, the highlights tend to get blown out. However, in even light, this film performs beautifully, moreso than any other film I have used. It does also tend to make skin colors SLIGHTLY trump-ish, but nothing you can't easily fix in post. Finally, beware that it is a slow film at 100 ISO and will have trouble shooting in overcast scenarios without a tripod. So, if you plan to shoot in high contrast situations without a GND filter, i suggest choosing something like Portra 400, which has the widest exposure latitude of any film. However, if you want some vivid, punchy, beautiful color negative landscape images that mimic slide film, and you plan to shoot in somewhat even lighting, go for this film. I do not recommend it for handheld, but for tripod shooting it is incredible.
Excelente película
Es de las mejores películas que he tenido para fotografía análoga, los colores saturados le dan un buen toque, el grano ni se nota en las fotos. La usé con flash y los colores fueron impresionantes, muy recomendable esta película.
