This popcorn is delicious and gives you that genuine popcorn machine taste. This kit gives a bit more of that Flavacol/salty taste than some other kits, which is how I prefer it. Though I've owned various popcorn machines in the past, I now just use a Whirley Pop, the 4 oz. kits are perfect for these. Together, it easily makes movie theater quality popcorn.

I have been buying this brand of popcorn for years. I pop it in a movie theater kettle machine and it works awesome.I usually buy the 8oz. packets, but I found that was a little too much popcorn at one time for me.So, I decided to try the 2.5oz. packet size.That size pops well and I usually have very few unpopped kernals, however there is one small issue you should be aware of.It's not a deal-breaker, but if you are trying to decide between this size and the larger sizes, this may help you decide which size you should get.Because the popcorn is such a small portion, they have incorporated the popcorn salt into the kernels themselves. There is no separate pouch for the popcorn salt. Which means there is no way to portion the salt, it is pre-mixed in.In the larger packets, the salt is a separate pouch and so is ideal for adding as much or as little as you want after everything pops.Also, by allowing the kernels to pop and sit in the salty oil, they become tougher and unpleasantly chewier after they pop. Maybe it is because the overall volume of the popcorn is lower and so the popcorn sits in the oil longer, but none-the-less, they are noticeably tougher.To get arounds this, I just pop two packets at a time and it is the perfect amount. But I still miss not being able to control the level of salt.So, I can 100%, heartily reccomend this popcorn company for their quality and value. But unless you really don't want too much popcorn popped at one time, or you have a much smaller popcorn popper, then you might want to consider buying something 5oz or larger.

I'm probably one of the most critical when it comes to replicating the movie theater experience at home. You're looking at a guy whom has a motorized movie screen, projector, sound system, actual 4 head soda fountain and candy display. So, matching the popcorn was a large task. Initially I was stuck with buying popcorn and peanut oil. Ya, it tasted good but no where near movie theater popcorn. Then, I found Snappy Snappack's and Great Northern. Greath Nothern was my first purchase. I challenge you to read all the reviews on here. I can assure you that those whom say the popcorn is too salty are correct. The salt comes in a powder form mixed in with the seeds. If you're careful you can separate the two with some effort. Personally, I've gotten used to the salt but I can tell you that it is very salty. The freshness wasn't a factor. I have no doubt that others have gotten less than fresh popcorn. Here's a warning: when your package arrives, BE CAREFUL. Don't just slice into it to open the box. The people from Bolo literally grab about 20 of the packets and drop them into a box. I was at a city event where they were giving away free popcorn and snapped a picture of the popcorn they were using. Snappy SnapPack: [...] This was not overly salted and tasted more like theater popcorn than great northern I think but they're both a toss up... it's super close.If you're unsure how big your kettle is... go by this: the 2.5oz is only good for one person. The 2.5oz kettles are the ones you see like this:[...]You've seen them at places when you're out and about. So in retrospect I should have gotten the 4.5oz one. I have one of those small nostalgia popcorn cards. 2.5oz will fill up a large popcorn bucket about halfway.Another thing I like about this pre-packed popcorn is that it pretty much pops all the seeds. When I used to pop popcorn from walmart popcorn and peanut oil it'd only pop about 50% of the seeds... the remaining seeds would fly out of the popper.There are some on here that talk about the buttery/oily mixture not looking fresh. It does come as a semi-solid. You don't need to kneed it, however. Simply empty it into the kettle and it will melt on it's own.If you have any questions I'd love to answer them. Best popcorn in all of the land. Buttery, salty, delicious. I pop it in a stove top popcorn maker and it turns out great every time. Popcorn so good it’ll have you day dreaming for more.

This popcorn kit is the best you can get for your home popcorn maker. It has everything all premeasured and you just have to put it into the pot on your popcorn maker and let it do its thing. The popcorn is all the right proportions of butter and salt and very few unpopped kernels. It’s well worth the price.
