5.0 out of 5 stars Home Again...Sweet and Endearing, Hopeful and Uplifting
Personally, I love this movie. It's a story of peoples' paths meeting, finding support in one another at a time when needed and how we, each in our own ways, can help one another find a sense of home again when things change and are uncertain, and our foundations have been shaken. I've watched this movie three times over the past year, and I'm sure I'll watch it again. It is very much a feel good movie for me, because I find the characters very endearing each in their own way, and I love how they support one another. There are moments that made me smile and laugh throughout the movie. A light-hearted, sweet and endearing movie that I personally find hopeful and uplifting, and even empowering because of the support of one another.Peace, Joy, Love and Many Kind Blessings To Us All...Everyone, Everything, Everywhere

5.0 out of 5 stars Upbeat, feel-good movie with a strong female lead.
Alright, I love feel-good movies, and this one took me to the loving, kind, open, and warm spaces of my childhood. I think that most of us live lives free of active enmities; lives filled with loved ones, young and old, who are rooting for us and wanting us to do well for their own sakes and ours. In the rushed bustle of life, it is easy to forget this. I enjoyed the young girls very much and the young men reminded me of people I know, some of whom were taken in by my large family for various reasons. Sheen's character was quite typical in his take-them-for-granted-just-to-realize-you-need-them-more-than-they-need-you-because-success-isn't-everything kind of way that some careless fathers and husbands tend to have about them (women can be careless mothers and wives too, but the movie was not about that particular gender dynamic). Sheen's bearded, rotund, self-satisfied, cynical and manipulative behavior contrasted beautifully with the young men's, clean, lean, hungry, admiring, and eager openness. Youth versus experience! Reese was relatable as the dependable, lovely but not too thin, not too well dressed mom starting over at 40, after a separation. True to life, she tried, failed, redefined, and finally found a sure footing because she was open to the support of old and new people in her life. For those of us single mothers who strive to foster happy memories, this movie is reassuring in the simple message that, yes indeed, it is possible. I know that this is a RomCom, but I related less to the "romance," gravitating instead towards the warm family messages and strong female lead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
Loved this movie. It was really good and great story line without a bunch of trash in it. Of course it's not anyone's true reality, but great to get away from the norm and daily drama of realistic life's moments. I thought it was funny and it felt good to laugh for an hour or so. I would watch this again just for the humor! Acting was great and Resse is always a sweet onscreen face that's loveable. Enjoy!
3.0 out of 5 stars Corny, unrealistic, cliche, but not terrible thanks to Reese
I'm pretty sure this is a film that Reese Witherspoon agreed to do as a favor, because not only is this corny, unrealistic and on the ridiculous side, you can tell she just dialed it in. Some actors like to do these kinds of films in between their serious work so they can take a break from putting their entire being into a serious role while still continuing to keep their acting chops sharpened and in motion. She did "Big Little Lie"s after this and was phenomenal in that showing some her career's best work. Maybe while doing this film she was saving her "all" for that. This isn't horrible, but don't expect anything remotely close to Shakespeare. In fact, I'm pretty sure that even the lamest romantic comedy isn't as cliché as this. The three male co-stars don’t have strong enough acting chops to match Reese. There’s no chemistry between any of the actors. The actor that was cast to play the love interest is miscast and the plot is absurd. 40 year old woman with two kids goes to a college frat bar to get hammered for her birthday with her friends. While there a young guy about 27 who looks 18 flirts with her, buys her a drink, she drinks more with him and his friends, then he ends up in her bedroom. Nothing happens, he gets sick, wakes up the next day in her bed, wearing no clothes, embarrassed. Long story short, he and his two frat boy wannabe filmmaker friends end up living at her house while behaving like Boy Scouts by helping to raise her daughters. Meanwhile Reese and the love interest are developing what I believe is supposed to be love for each other, but their chemistry is so opposing it’s hard to believe. Unsurprisingly this was written by a woman with an adolescent view of romance. Surprisingly, she’s the daughter of the great writer director Nancy Meyers. The talent isn’t exactly the same when it comes to making movies. And it was likely her relation to Nancy Meyers that got this green-lit by a studio. The sub plot focuses on the three young men trying to get their film made. It’s used so much that someone oughta let the writer director of this know that it’s the least interesting to anyone watching this. You may like this if you enjoy corny paint by numbers romantic comedies that aren't funny, and you're a fan of Reese Witherspoon, or looking for something mind numbing that you don't have to think too hard about, but need to pass the time, then this ain't so bad to give it a shot for that.

Great film.
Great film, arrived before time, amazing price, would definitely recommend seller.
A bad horror movie dressed as a rom com
It’s about the standard of a made for tv afternoon film. The plot line is improbable and uncomfortable - a rich sophisticated woman with children allows three youngish strange blokes to move in with her, and it’s not long before they take over either, even dictating to her ex husband that he shouldn’t be there! The worst part is the so called love interest - his acting is not good and he spoils it, needs to be at Michael Sheen’s standard to make a credible alternative for Alice. Overall the film is unsuccessful in deciding whether these are three kids whom Alice can mother or whether she should be sleeping with them. All without a thought for her own kids. It’s just lucky they get on. Truly awful.
Charming
A lovely rom-com. Just the thing for a night by the fire, a glass of wine and a cat on your lap.
