The heritage of QUALITY STREET began when everyone's favourite chocolate selection was created by the Mackintosh family in 1936. John Mackintosh had a successful confectionery business, driven by his wife's invention of a new, delicious kind of sweet - chewy toffee. This toffee soon became a firm favourite, and the business grew successfully when Harold Mackintosh inherited it from his Father. It was then that the QUALITY STREET brand was born, inspired by the J.M. I had seen these on British TV and was curious and these are soooo good. The package arrived undamaged and the quality of the candy is excellent.

I first enjoyed Quality Street chocolates when I lived in Ontario. I was happy to see them available on Bolo. The first ones were delayed a bit. This order was delivered earlier than expected! They are a special treat, only 1 a day. Lol or maybe 2!

Ours arrived in a padded envelope and were totally squashed. They still tasted nice, but I couldn't give them as a gift.

I grew up with quality street as a Christmas treat. I just loved them! Like so many chocolates of yesteryear that quality today just isn’t there. The ingredients have obviously changed - a quick on line review shows I’m not alone in noticing and disliking the different taste and texture. There’s an awful lingering aftertaste, almost chemically, which is far from pleasant. I’d settle for all of the other changes…smaller quantities, smaller individual sizes, cheaper wrappers, cheaper packaging… if they tasted like the original. But, no. I never thought I’d say this but these are so, so disappointing.

Yummy chocolates
The chocolates were yummy. If you don’t like creamy fruit filled chocolates then this may not be for you. I love them so they were good. Unfortunately the box was less than half full, that was a bit disappointing. Packaging very handy for gift-giving.
