This has been a great addition to my collection. Love it. It's raw and haunting and very cool and fun. Can't say enough good things about this record. Highly recommend.

Ok. So those of you who are jazz lovers but don't the full history on blues, Robert Johnson is the true father of blues. In the early 30's, black jazz musicians were allowed to be in and amongst whites because they played the the jukes. But the music they played was the stuff others were playing at the time. We know that TRUE blues were created in the fields of slaves and crop sharers. Johnson would try to play but wasn't great so he was booted. Finally, he disappeared for a year and a half. There is much controversy on that time period. His life is shrouded in mystery. He was believed to have sold his soul to the devil. But in truth, he learned, in graveyards, from Ike Zimmerman. He over took his teacher so fast it was crazy. So, he comes back and he starts this nee revolution in music. Most every blues musician has some influence of Johnsiin their music. His chord progressions, his rhythm, his tone. Even later, big time musicians, like Rolling Stones, played with his sound. So, if you LOVE blues like I do, if you want to hear the best of the best.....B.B. Kings influencer....you need this set

If you are a fan of the Blues this is an album you need in your collection. I am new to the Blues and have found I really enjoy a lot of the earlier Blues music or at least that style of Blues.
