Not mushy!! Tender, tasty, and have enough liquid to use for heating. They can be rinsed if you want and used in salads. I have used them in soups, salads, tacos, and mashed up. This is a good way to add protein to meals. The low salt is an added bonus for those of us watching their blood pressure.
