5.0 out of 5 stars I think it's a WINNER.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is a 'KEEPER'. First I got the door screen in like 8 hours. IMPORTANT: Measure your door opening and buy the correct size. The width of the screen door was perfect but had about 1" of open unprotected space at the bottom of the door. No way to correct it. Close but not perfect. Install was easy. NOTE 1: I have a metal door so the screen magnets sometimes attach themselves to the metal door. However if I let the screen door magnets attract to themselves before I close your house door it's not a problem. They recommend laying the screen door on a flat surface which is needed. NOTE 2: It would be best to work on a long picnic bench if possible when attaching the Velcro tape to the screen door. Why: I'm 78 and working on my knees is difficult. Placing the screen panels on a table top is working smarter at least for me.They include large plastic head thumb tacks to help secure the Velcro strip to the house door frame. Good idea if you need to remove the screens. NOTE 3: You won't be able to push the tacks into the wood door frame with your thumb and will need to use a light hammer. TAP, do not pound on the tack heads. The nail portion is ike a brad nail. Also, you need to hit the tack head dead center, a glancing blow to bend the tack shaft. Trying to straighten it out is difficult. (It happened to me.) I wish they included 1-2 extra tacks for good luck. Also you will need to space your tacks about 10-12 inches. I had a 32" door frame and used 4 on the top, and 8 on each side (82").I initially purchased a unit at Home Depot that cost $15 and decided not to use it. I am happy that I bought this one.It had more magnets that provided more closure of the right and left screen panels. There is also a tab on each screen panel that you can fold and hold the screen panels close to the door frame. I just might buy one for my laundry room to garage door.
5.0 out of 5 stars LONG BUT 100% TRUE REVIEW
I LOVE THIS SCREEN! Here is an honest review & WHY YOU NEED TO BUY IT RIGHT NOW.Are you someone like me who lives in suburbs aka areas where there are lots of woods/forests? How about near the marshlands kinda? Well if so, THEN YOU KNOW THESE BUGS/INSECTS OUT HERE ARE GIANT. GREENHEADS THE SIZE OF A HAND ✋️ 😳 🤣 & how about field mice, wood bees, bumblebees, hornets, wasps gnats, and MOSQUITOES..?WELL if any of this sounds dreadfully familiar and you too, like me, want some fresh air without the army of nature entering your home in attack mode. I PROMISE YOU BUY THIS SCREEN. THIS ONE. Oh you see a similar one... better check out the MAGNET structure first! This screen has magnets inside the material.. this allows a complete seal of the screen where you enter in/out... Confused?Let me explain. Husband bought similar product with different magnet structure thinking it was the same. Well any of these screens made with magnets that connect with plastic on outside DO NOT BE FOOLED. That causes a huge unsealed gap between each one. Big enough i could fit my entire hand through it. No critter will have any problems entering in with those...I immediately said no take them back (he bought 2).This literally turned into a semi heated marital dispute because his ideal was its here it's bought we have it whatever. And my ideal was ITS NOT GONA STOP ANYTHING FROM INFILTRATING SO WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT.Since I am commenting here then you know how that dispute ended and I ordered THIS SCREEN that very night 😂So, why this big long review? Because it's worth it! Imagine a heavy rainstorm flooding the neighboring fields.. MICE looking for shelter. I KID YOU NOT THESE MICE WERE CLIMBING THE SCREEN LOOKING FOR ANY TYPE OF ENRTY, CRACK, CREVICE .. but NOT IN MY HOUSE NOPE! THIS SCREEN KEPT EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERY LITTLE THING FROM LITTLE BUG TO BIG FAT MOUSE. Nothing got in. Even the weight of the mice, wind, and rain blowing on it. Nothing. Not one time did it faulter, open, fail nothing!!!!!!The quality is amazing as this thing lasted us 2 years until it wore out from regular usage. And this means heavy in and out traffic (family with kids, large dogs, and moving furniture through it multiple times) ! Yep large chairs, couches, ottomans all fit through it without any issue, even though it's an illusion that makes it look impossible... it's not. It will work, use the side hooks to hook the screens open and anything will fit through. My ONLY recommendation when it comes to putting the thumbtacks in for extra security is to put many on the top where the screen opens. So visual would be: |°° ° °°°°/\°°°° ° °°|I say this because my first screen, I used more tacks down the sides instead, and the top 2 tacks on either side of the opening kept popping out (but not til over a year of use so wasn't a huge nuisance we just added more thumbtacks. So this time!!!! I put the tacks on it as in the "visual" above and I think that will solve the problem for good.Okay, if you took the time to read my entire review (ha maybe nobody but the seller lol I truly don't care) just buy it already. It's the right decision. It's the only screen I will ever buy and I can't tell you how I will never go without one again. Game changer for sure 🙌🏻
4.0 out of 5 stars Very Clever! Needs a few minor design tweaks.
Really quite clever and worthwhile, although not "perfect."Really pay attention to the direction that says there should be a slight upswing at the top of the screen where the two sides meet. That upswing is CRITICAL! Without it, the two sides do not close properly. We fixed that and the magnetic closure works perfectly. Also, wish it was about 2.5 to three inches longer - would close any gaps at the bottom of the screen and increase effectiveness of the device. It is great: our dog can go in and out on his own and our grandkids too. Weather here in Texas is perfect right now and we really enjoy being able to keep the door to the back patio open and get the fresh air.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install
I have never purchased a product like this before. But I have a new apartment and a patio but the door does not have a screen. I know, who builds apartments like this? I live in Michigan and there are bugs. Anyway I live alone and decided after reading reviews that I could put this up myself. The product was well packaged with just enough Velcro included for installation, as well as some tacks. The screen itself already has Velcro on it around the sides and top. I have seen some products that use double sided tape, which I didn't want. The instructions say to adhere the Velcro tape to the screen and then hold up the screen and pull the back side of the tape to adhere to the doorframe. But with just one person that seemed more difficult. I put the Velcro tape up on the doorframe itself on the top and sides. Then all I had to do was hold up the screen and adhere the Velcro on the screen to the Velcro on the doorframe. This is great because it can be removed easily to re-adjust. I did take it off and moved the top of the screen down a little to make the bottom just reach the floor. It also makes it easy to remove the screen when winter comes, and then put it up again the next spring. I just installed it yesterday, but was very easy to do and I will see how it works over time. But I am so far very pleased with this product!
Easy to install
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } To block possible oily smoke we installed this screen. It's easy to install. The glue sticks on metal and wood easily and hardly, but not on painted wall. Cleaning is easy. Material quality is good. Worth the money.
Works very well if installed properly
Before I bought this one, I had picked up a door screen some time ago because I had seen it at a friends cottage and like the one at their cottage... it fell apart, ripped and was generally useless at keeping bugs out effectively after a couple weeks/months of usage. This one... fits perfectly and works perfectly... The 2 sided tape sticks well and has survived the winter with no problems. Previous screen we had to tack and glue all around the screen to have it not come off the doorframe and even then, it ripped easily. The magnets are sewn into this screen (our previous one they clipped on, weren't as strong and then broke. They also were too far apart.) If you install it well, it snaps together after you walk through perfectly! The screen is heavier and weighted at the bottom and perfectly seals the door when not in use. It still looks brand new after a full year of usage. After the first one we bought fell apart, I almost didn't buy another and was thinking of getting a roll away screen, but they are expensive and this style is great for when your hands are full. I am glad I picked this one up. It is working very well and does exactly what it should. A couple small nitpicks and comments. If you leave this on through the winter, it is best to pull it back so it is permanently out of the way. Moving through the screen when it is frozen in snow at the bottom will likely cause rips and tears to happen. So I tried using the provided snap on ties to do that and they immediately ripped and weren't strong enough to hold the screen back. I ended up tieing the screen back with strings on both sides over the winter. Another note to those that are thinking of buying it. If you have a metal door or door frame... the magnets will quite often stick to the door, so it won't close completely after you walk through as the bottom magnet will attach to the door or frame. This is not a design flaw of the screen... simply an annoyance if you happen to have a door frame or door that will attract the magnets as you move through it.

No bugs are allowed to come in
I am very satisfied with this product, at beginning I just didn’t set too high expectations, I thought: okay, let’s try. But now, I love it. It fits perfectly to my door without damaging the original woods. Unbelievable is the magnetic power which closed immediately and perfectly when my son went out or in. It’s no chance for the flies or bugs to come in. I strongly recommend this product. But make sure it fits your door.
A little wide but overall worth it
A lil wide in my door but overall very easy to install and use.
