The default setup is for propane. The instructions all say a qualified gas installer should do the work. Download and read the installation instructions before ordering. Installed and working.

This fireplace has not worked since I bought it. I have Attempted multiple fixes and have yet to get it running. Biggest rip off piece of crap I have ever bought. Would NEVER recommend this product to anyone!!!

We love the fireplace, and it really puts out the heat. We use natural gas for ours. It's easy enough to install, but be sure to follow all the instructions for proper installation and ventilation. The natural gas connection to the regulator has a safety set-screw (in case somebody accidentally connects high-pressure propane to the natural gas inlet). If your home's natural gas pressure is around 9.5 or above, as ours is, the unit will not stay lit unless you back off the set screw two full turns. The burner must be removed from the unit to get to the set screw. Details are in the instructions, and it's best to let a pro handle the job (with the accompanying costs, of course).

Looked everywhere trying to find the source of a certain smell. Wife said it smelled like burnt plastic, both of us kept smelling a uncomfortable burning smell whenever the flame kicked on for a while. Thought it might just be a new fireplace smell that would go away after some use. We have ran it 4 times now, with same smell.Thermostat is actually just 5 settings numbered 1 to 5. Very hard to actually set a temperature. At the lower settings the fireplace had a high pitch whistle and could be heard on other floors.Lastly and just a small think but the logs fit together by having screw sit in dips. A couple of the screws were wobbly and made it hard to have the logs sit solidly.
