Great for frying eggs and meats. No discernible taste but very clear ghee content. No lingering oiliness. Very happy using this over seed oils.

Can't say enough! I hadn't ever tried this before, but if you need butter, and can't get it where you live, you should definitely be using this. It's richer, full of flavor, and has a shelf life that butter would never have. It is superior to butter in EVERY way. If it turns to oil in the heat, don't panic, simply refrigerate. It changes nothing, trust me, it's clarified. This stuff is GREAT! A little bit goes a long way, too. I'm never going back. Flat tasting butter or margarine will never do now. I'm buying this from now on!

[Update below] I haven't a basis of comparison, haven't purchased a blend like this before, but I hoped for a pronounced buttery taste. I could just barely detect a butter flavor. I wanted to use it in place of butter on oatmeal and grits, in particular. Didn't work for me, when I added enough to be able to taste they were too oily. I like ghee, it's lighter and more flavorful- I think the proportion of ghee in this must be relatively small.Update: I added a star because I found I DO like it in dishes for which a little oil is customary, like pork-fried rice and stir-frys (and unlike porridge, rice and veggies don't absorb this blend, so you CAN taste the ghee, and a little goes a long way). I'm on a new low-fat vegetarian diet (experimenting) and made a version with brown rice, Soy TVP chunks (Barry Farms, so good) and a few peas. I didn't actually fry it, I added a tiny amount of this on the plate (not even a teaspoonful). I sprinkled with chives and a little onion salt, and it was very close to our family recipe, a favorite. So I've revised my opinion- I'm sure there will be other good uses too- (on popcorn?). I also like the packaging, it doesn't leak, and the fact that no refrigeration is required is nice for camping.

After reading an article from Martha Stewart about using ghee, instead of plain butter, when making scrambled eggs, i bought this item to try that idea. The eggs turned out greatly tasty, so I now ise the ghee instead of butter with baked potatoes, frying a cheeseburger, and topping roasted cauliflower!

Although it was organic, it came in a plastic container. If that wasn't disturbing enough, it was the consistency of runny oil. I don't live in a warn climate, so it should be solid. All of the sea salt was in a clump at the bottom of the container.
