Been drinking this daily and love this bold roasted flavor! I have it with a little oat milk but it’s great on its own too. I feel like it helps my digestive health and seems like there are a variety of other health benefits shown in research. This brand is good quality and offers a pretty good value for the price.

If you’re looking to replace your black coffee, this is no where near close.However, if you’re willing to take it with sugar and/or cream, it’s surprisingly close. Coffee has natural oils while Chicory doesn’t, so you really can’t compare the mouthfeel of the two until you’ve added some fat. Both cane sugar and splenda compliment the Chicory well.I got the instant version and when I pour hot water on top of it, it dissolves smoothly without having to stir. It foams up a little, pleasantly reminiscent of foamed milk. Don’t be tempted to add more chicory to make it stronger: it doesn’t work like that. Start with the 1 tsp/8 oz that the package instructs. It is forgiving if you use a bit more but too much and the flavor becomes undesirable.This is a new staple in our house. Between the excellent flavor and the prebiotic benefit of the Inulin fiber (1g/16oz), it’s a fantastic replacement for coffee.

Without any doubt this “plain” French roasted chicory is the absolute best. I grew up drinking coffee and coffee alternatives like Pero, Postum and others but in the last several years I started trying chicory root products directly. There are several other brands on the internet and on Bolo with lots of extra ingredients that seem like they would be a good idea, they are not. This simple but high quality 100% chicory is exceptional. It has a complex flavor profile due to the quality of the product and it is perfect just the way it is. On days when you don’t want the acidity of coffee this is a wonderful alternative the actually settles the stomach and makes you feel better.

I am an MCAS sufferer. I am not supposed to have caffeine or cocoa. I know sucks!So, I was unable to refill my last brand of instant Chickory and offered this. I am so happy I did!This is very smooth and literally tastes like a mocha. I don’t know how but it does. There is no cocoa in it I checked the ingredients.So if you are looking for a coffee replacement (not to taste like coffee) that also dissolves in cold liquid, this is it!Grateful for healthy alternatives.

I tried this on a whim hoping to find a replacement for coffee. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoy the deep and slightly bitter taste. I can drink it black and I also enjoy it will milk. I use a French press process for this as I don't think a simple filter drip would work but I might try that out.

I originally bought this for my wife as an alternative to coffee. She has recently had a couple bouts with afib and her doc along with several other lifestyle changes suggested she not drink coffee/caffeine. While she hasn't tried it yet, while investigating this product I was impressed with some of the health benefits of inulin that are found in chicory root. I started putting a teaspoon or two in my coffee maker along with my coffee and I have to say it smoothed out the acidity in the coffee and added a flavor profile that I really like. If I add too much it becomes overpowering with the full measurement of coffee. I could definitely see going half and half to cut caffeine if needed. I think if I ever feel compelled to quit coffee/caffeine it might very well be a substitute for my morning ritual of enjoying a hot drink to start my day. I'll update if and when my bride tries it. Regardless it's a winner for me.

Excellent chicory. It’s very concentrated with a bold aroma and flavor. I use it to make kvass, and I absolutely love it.

Very good chicory, ground to the right size for pourover filters and Aeropress. (Chicory mellows the taste of cheap Robusta coffees, and reduces the caffeine per cup. Measure out in equal proportion to your ground coffee ... e.g. for one cup, use half a tablespoon of ground coffee and an equal amount of this. Brew as normal.) On its own it makes a good substitute beverage but wants a little cream to help its flavour.
Use less in your coffee maker than you would ground coffee.
Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from? This is close to coffee but has a distinct taste. If you are trying to give up coffee and caffeine, I would recommend this. Use half as much ground product as you would for regular coffee. I miss coffee but feel much better drinking this. With whole milk its delicious.
Great quality
I cant say enough good things about this product. I quite drinking coffee but missed the bitter hot drink. This is a much healthier substitute without a caffeine crash midday or causing skin dehydration. Pure bliss and full of antioxidants.
