I see others talking about the smell but, honestly, I don't notice any at all. As for taste, I haven't tried it plain, with water, but I don't like my protein shakes with water either.I really appreciate the fact that this comes in an unflavored form. Hard for to find these days because absolutely everything flavored seems to have Stevia, sucralose, or some other artificial sweetener. I hate the taste of any sweeteners other than sugar or honey, and my digestive tract doesn't like the artificial stuff either. I don't drink or eat anything sugary either since I eat "clean", so this unflavored is perfect for me.I started working out hard at the gym 6 days a week back in February after a major surgery and cardiac arrest during that left me unable to get any real exercise for over a year. Naturally, my muscles were very sore the day after workouts, until I found this product. By adding in a scoop of Naked BCAAs, I rarely have soreness. That's in spite of my weekly increase in reps, sets, and machine weights.
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple ingredient label, great product
Went with the non-flavored over flavored after reading the amount of serving sizes between the 2. These BCAAs mix well, have zero flavor and work pretty well. The draw for me was the ingredient list. Not a bunch of filler or extra stuff.I started off with a single scoop for the first few shakes to test interactions. Then went to 2 scoops post work out, single scoop AM/ PM on days I’m not lifting.Noticed a significant drop in glucose so rather than mix with zero sugar drinks I began cutting with 50:50 OJ to sugar free juice or water.Have been on this for about a month and so far so good! Started with their protein shake and green/ red supplements. Recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars No taste, easily mixes in and is unnoticeable.
I’m a biased fan of naked products. As a vegetarian I add these to all sorts of things. I never taste it. I don’t even know it’s there. Even in plain water, if you mix well it’s unnoticeable.I’m not sure how well it works but I was told my doc to make sure I take them and this is my go to to follow docs orders.Mixes great with naked pb and naked pea protein also.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but VERY bitter
I wanted to try this because it’s good quality, and the sweeteners put in other brands BCAAs were doing a number on my stomach. This definitely made a huge difference in the digestive effects. Much easier to tolerate. But I realized why other ones are overly sweet. Unflavored BCAAs are extremely bitter. I usually can just mentally block something like that and chug it down. But the only way I can do it is with half apple juice and half water. But if you want a good quality product with no extra garbage, and can tolerate a very bitter drink every day, then look no further.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best BCAAs
Unflavored, and no citric acid so it's easy on the stomach. Love it!
1.0 out of 5 stars Be warned. As of this writing, there are actually two very different products on this page.
The unflavored one is 100 servings. The flavored one looks the same, has the same label, same exact weight, almost the same price, but it is only 34 servings. Therefore, it is 1/3 the value. They fill the flavored one with sugar and artificial flavors and charge the same, although the extra ingredients reduce the servings down to a third. That isn’t “Naked” and it isn’t honest to put it on the same page with the other, where all you have to do is click a flavor option and lose 2/3 of your product.- Other than the flavor name, the label is the same- The price is virtually the same- The jar is the same size, the contents inside the exact same volume (1.1 lbs)- They sell from the same page- But one is 34 servings and the other is 100When I asked the company (Naked, not Bolo) to address this, they basically told me sorry, bye. They did nothing. When I asked if they thought putting two products with dramatically different usable quantities and virtually identical labels was good business, they didn’t reply.I had already opened the product before I realized I had 1/3 as much as expected - the jar is the same size after all.I am writing my only negative review ever because the company was dismissive, and because other buyers might be mislead into making the same mistake.
5.0 out of 5 stars Clean BCAAS
The taste does get a bit to get used to but who cares they’re free of all the craziness…and if drinking during workout the discomforting taste kind of compliments your workouts if you’re in the zone. I will continue to purchase!
5.0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as the babies have you believe
I ordered this to try as an alternative to Twinlab's Amino Fuel. I have muscular dystrophy and was a big user of Amino Fuel for years. However, now it is ridiculously priced and they don't tell you what it contains in regards to Amino Acids like they use to. Most likely so they can overcharge us for less quality.I struggle with artificial sweeteners, even those they claim come from real sugar. Doesn't matter, they all make me feel nauseous as it lingers on the pallet and causes headaches. Amino Fuel was the only product that didn't bother me at all. But then I came across this product where it's just the Amino Acids--no sweeteners or nasty flavorings. Let me just say as much of a sensitive pallet I have, I don't see why some reviewers were whining about how bad it smelled and tasted. I think one person likened it to sweaty feet, lol. I smelled it fearing the worst and it was a non-issue. The taste I will say it does have quite a bitter hit to it, but is easily remedied without barely much of an effort. I think some reviewers are just being overly dramatic in their complaints about how utterly bad it smells and tastes. So if you want a good Amino Acid product free from needless fillers and nauseating sweeteners/flavorings that never match the descriptions claimed, or are just tired of being ripped off by corporate greed after years of product loyalty (looking at you Twinlab)--try NAKED.
good product

Stinks bad but expected
Tbh this smells like any aminos, smells absolutely horrible and tastes bad if you drink it with a small amount of water, this is expected with such clean ingredients. Nonetheless you can put it in shakes with no issues.. clean and effective - taste is something you will have to get used to.
Good powder!
This stuff really helps during and after work outs.I just put a scoop in a water bottle and shake.I dont mind the taste at all!Kind of makes my water taste cleaner.I also add it to smoothies here and there and there is no taste when doing that.Would recommend for high level athletes who dont want an extra crap in their hydration beverage.I will re-buy.
Timing
Prefer product and good quality.
Great product
This is easy to use and pretty tasteless. I mix it with a couple other things and it blends up great. I’ll definitely continue to buy from this brand.
