Japanese food heat is generally rated on a scale from 0-5. For whatever reason, the curry labeled hot is actually only a 3 out 5 (what most people in America would consider medium). My preference for heat balance is actually #4, but I haven't been able to find it for sale on Bolo. Anyone that wants really hot curry should look at the #5 if you can find it. If you like heat, you'll need to make some amendments to the recipe.

Very light curry flavor and very light on the heat level. This has great umami like a good beef stew base with a little curry, but not nearly the amount of curry and heat I expected from something called curry.
