Its the same stuff as what you'll typically find in Unisom.The other common OTC sedative being diphenhydramine (aka benadryl). Neither are as strong or effective as any of the zolpidem tartrate based prescription sleep aids (aka Ambien or Intermezzo) but they're a real step up over melatonin which might as well be flinstones vitamins for some!I usually break the 25mg pills in half since a full one will leave me groggy for a few hours after I wake but that is very much YMMV. Everyone is effected by these meds differently. Also I wouldn't take it for weeks or months. You'll end up developing a tolerance and it'll lose effectiveness. IMO don't take them for more than 3 days straight tops. They're a crutch at best. That is all I need though!Kirkland comes through for the win for a solid product with a good price so I gotta give em' 5 stars here.

These work much better than the Melatonin or Diphenhydramine (This worked great the first time I used it, not so much anymore).Be careful the first time you take it. I was way behind on sleep, so the first time I slept for like 12 hours.Now I try to take in about 1/2 hour before I want to go to sleep. If you fight it, you can ignore it. But if you want to go to sleep, you'll get drowsy in about 1/2 hour.I now often try just 1/2 tablet. Not habit forming. You have to remember to take it.

I have insomnia and use this product to help me fall asleep. it can be depended on to work most of the time.
