5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff works

    S.&.W. · November 10, 2024

This stuff truly works I used it on my pcp air rifle I pressurize to 3650 psi that is an insane amount of pressure. I bought the rifle for dirt cheap cuz it was leaking air and this fixed it. I ended up with a 900$ pcp air rifle for only 100$ cuz this stuff

4.0 out of 5 stars didnt seal my joints

    J.t. · February 5, 2024

its good stuff i imagine, its a thimble full for ten dollars, a little high for me. its more of a lock tite than a sealant. it didnt seal and thats what i bought it for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked when all else failed

    C.W. · August 26, 2019

Amazing stuff! Worked when everything else failed. I used this on a high pressure hydronic old splitter that had leaking 1/2 inch npt threads. Had tried teflon tape, pipe dope, several automotive sealants. Figured for 7$ this was worth a try before giving up buying a new control unit. Applied and let dry 24 hours and problem solved. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but worth it.

    e. · April 5, 2021

Had a compressed air system that was leaking all over the place. Teflon tape just wasn't cutting it. This stuff is magic. Not a single leak end to end now. Must be patient, wait 24 hours for a full cure prior to applying pressure. At nearly $1/milliliter it's very expensive, though. Nevertheless, will be buying more!

3.0 out of 5 stars For $8, Get a Half Bottle of High Pressure Sealant that takes a long time to cure!

    C. · December 1, 2019

My review is kind of mixed for this bottle of thread sealant. The price seems good and I thought the sealant will be filled near to the top of the bottle. But when I put it to a light, the bottle is only half full. I checked the nozzle to see if any of the sealant had leaked, but the nozzle is uncut and sealed. Luckily, I don't need all that much, but still... These companies making sealants and thread lockers are over-pricing their products! Some are sold almost at the price of precious metals!Update: Jan 19, 2023--------------------------So, I finally got around to using this sealant on my rejigging process for my 10 gallon air tank. I used it on the existing pressure gauge after I took it off to fit a ball shutoff valve that is adjacent to it on the existing manifold. I also used the Vixen Horn thread sealant for this new shutoff valve, several male M-Type plugs, and several universal female couplers. I did this on the previous Sunday, which is January 15th, 2023. The purple liquid from the bottle is very thin and as I applied the sealant onto the threads. It runs down the thread and gathers as a droplet at the end. I just turn the threads so that the droplet actually runs through all the thread. I didn't know if I'm supposed to let it dry before screwing the threads into the manifold, but I waited maybe 5-10 minutes and put the pressure gauge and the ball valve back into the pressure tank's manifold. I did the same for the other plugs and couplers except for one where I had to leave the sealant soaked threads from one end of the air hose for a couple of hours while I went to get another universal coupler from Home Depot. Even after 2 hours, the sealant is still fairly liquid. As per instructions, I waited 24 hours to see if the sealant on exposed threads have cured. To my surprise, the sealant has not dried up and it does turn yellow in color. So, I left the tank sit another day to see if the sealant hardens. I tested to see how dry the sealant on the exposed threads are again. Same thing but a little less residue. 3rd day, I used a napkin again on the exposed thread. It seems that the sealant has finally cured and dried but I forgot to pump it up to see if there was any leaks. 4th day (today) - I pumped the tank up to 120psi and shut off the ball valve. Then, I re-hooked the hose with all the fittings and opened the valve. The pressure gauge now reads 110psi. I tested all the areas where I put on the plugs, couplers, and at the tanks manifold. No air bubbles form with soapy water! I now have the ball valve in closed position and will leave it sitting there overnight and for days to see if the air pressure holds or to see how much pressure is lost per day. As you can see, the Vixen Horns sealant is quite thin and cures after several days but it does work thus far.Update: Jan 23, 2023-------------------------Based on the pressure reading from Jan 19, 2023 (4 days ago), I had left the pressurized air in the tank at 110psi after leaving the ball valve open to fill up the air hose attachments. I left the shutoff valve closed for a couple of days and the pressure pretty much remained at 110psi. I then, turned the ball valve wide oven again. No air had gone into the hose attachments since it still contained the 110psi pressure that was left in there before I shut off the ball valve on the tank. I let it site there from Saturday morning until this morning (2 full days). Pressure remained at 110psi.All in all this sealant does work! Just takes a long time to cure. The purply liquid turns yellow after a few days. Please see attached photos.I will further update this review if anything changes.

    1.0 out of 5 stars It's a rip-off!

Seller claims to sell you 10ml (0.34 FL OZ) NET of this Fitting Sealant for 10 bucks. In reality you get a tiny, less then half filled bottle with less then 4ml in there that's maybe good for a couple of fittings. I consider this a rip-off!
