I'm an accountant and been using pencils for > 50 years - tried many and this one is by far the best! eraser nice and large....usually lead and eraser finish about the same time....inexpensive and good too - what more can you ask for?

I've ordered these pencils for about 5 years. It is great to have a lead pencil, because they last forever. Plus, the eraser is one of the best. I've even ordered this pencil for my twin granddaughters.

These mechanical pencils allow exquisite control and are perfect for architectural renderings,Sketches and legal ramblings. Also for removingSplinters and stings caused by wasps and other aphids. Placing inside orifices should be avoided and can cause serious injuries. Expensive but worth every penny.

No longer what they once were. For those of you who, like me, depended on this for your go-to pencil and loved their bold good lead, these are no longer made well. They are still, yes, made in the good old USA. But they now come in boxes rather than the hard bubble plastic, and they are LIGHT yellow. Your first clue that when you write with them you will not see what you wrote. I ordered another size pack to just be sure that papermate is now making a bad product, and they ARE. I recommend you switch to BIC velocity. Lovely soft #2 lead that you can actually SEE.

I was first introduced to these pencils when trained to assess reading fluency by taking student running records years ago. I've been using them ever since. This is my go-to pencil. It's comfortable in the hand, has a sturdy lead that doesn't easily break, its mechanics never fail, and the eraser is a good one. It's a traditional No. 2 size, so if you're looking for quite a skinny point, this isn't the pencil for you -- but for all other pencil needs, this is a GREAT one. I highly recommend.
