My favorite track is the first one I played on the air of Tom Petty's when I worked in radio. The track is Woman In Love. Loved the song enough to buy the album. The Waiting and Nightwatchman were also hits of this album. A great rock n' roll album from a band that knew how to groove.

Closed my eyes when I played this record - a nice, rich, warm sound that only a record can reproduce! I "went back in time" as the songs played. The music was SO good back then.

Being a bit anal I was disappointed that side one has like a big stain mark from the pressing. Doesn't affect the play but expect a bit more for the price. Love the music.

An Overlooked Classic
Even among Tom Petty fans, this album is rarely talked about. It should be though, it's a gem. The Waiting, Woman in Love, Nightwatchman...oh yes.
Classic Album, Classic Artist!
Different cover (US version) from my original vinyl copy , but the grooves inside are still as awesome ever. A relaxation, in parts, of the propulsive retro new wave energy of the first three albums, but The Heartbreakers here are more organic, the spaces in the music and the interweaving of the musicians providing a perfect baselinefor a slew of unforgettable songs. Love it!
