Description:
One locally grown kabocha squash. Kabocha squash, a.k.a. Japanese pumpkin, is usually dark green on the outside with yellow-orange flesh. Sweet with an edible rind and a fluffy texture, some say it?s like a cross between a pumpkin and a sweet potato. Why the name ?kabocha?? It?s the Japanese word for squash. Delicious roasted or steamed, kabocha squash is also an excellent choice for dipping in batter and frying alongside other veggies, to make homemade tempura.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carefully wrapped, fresh, and delicious.
Beautifully packaged and excellent quality.
2.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously small
It’s an expensive squash to start with. And that would be just fine if it’s get something for the money.Well, it’s simply ridiculously smallsThe product got two stars because it resembles what I was hoping I’ll get. That’s my palm there I no the picture. Yea
4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey, but the real deal!
I wanted to see if a Kabocha squash can indeed be sent through the mail, and it turns out that it can.I have eaten tons of Kabocha squash over my lifetime, and the one I received was about a 3.5/5 stars in quality. Which is pretty good, it was nice and sweet, and in good condition. My verdict: if you can’t get your hands on Kabocha squash at the market, or the ones there are of bad quality, this is a viable if expensive option.
3.0 out of 5 stars Tastes great but much too expensive
This squash is awesome. We purchased it because it is lower in carbs than sweet potatoes, acorn squash, or butternut squash, but can be substituted for these. The taste is a little more pungent than the squash or sweet potatoes, but we love it. The only negative is that we paid entirely too much for it and were able to purchase it much more inexpensively locally.
