Today was my second time using it and I was adjusting from gas to battery. This has a lot of power and plenty for me. It's easy to put together. It's ready to go in minutes. The size is right for me and the adjustments are easy for anyone to do. No adding gas and no winding string which makes the job easier and a bit fun. It's a sturdy piece of equipment and I think it will last for years.

Great light weight trimmer and it was quiet compared to my old Worx.2 features that I really miss from my Worx that would make this trimmer fantastic....add wheels so that you can trim under bushes and other things in your yard that cannot be moved.and the battery...awful! 40V doesnt mean anything with out the battery amp hours and the battery they include only has 1.5ah which gave me 15 minutes of use... and my battery was fully charged overnight.my worx battery was a 40V 4.0ah and it lasted almost an hour...big difference! I missed that on the specification page when I was ordering a new trimmer. If you are wondering why I just didnt order another Worx trimmer, I did and had to return it. They have totally cheaped out on their product durability and it was broken when I opened the box. I saw other possible areas on the worx trimmer that would break easy too. my old worx trimmer was made with more durable material and lasted almost 8 years; so I thought I would give this black decker trimmer a try. I think this trimmer works great but i think black+decker needs to treat their customers better and give them a quality battery as well...not this worthless one that is included with the trimmer. and by the way the charger is very cheap too and hard to get the battery on and off.

The trimmer is lightweight. I have back issues and I am getting older. I could not use my gas powered trimmer because it is very heavy so I ordered this lightweight trimmer. It works well and is powerful. My neighbor was disappointed in a trimmer he bought and he is so impressed with the power of mine he returned his trimmer and is going to purchase the Black and Decker 40 volt. My only criticism is the battery life. It drains quickly as do most batteries of this kind. I can't do a very large area without recharging. I think I will purchase two additional batteries in the future.

This Black and Decker weed eater-edger works fine. This is the second one that was sent. The first had the threads tapped at an angle into a straight opening. I knew as soon as I saw the screw started into the mechanism to attach the guard that there would be a problem. The screw would not screw into the hole attach the guard. However, Bolo immediately sent me a replacement when I contacted them. I boxed up the faulty item and received the new one in two days. I notice the battery takes quite a while to charge but it seems to work fine. I have not used the edger and doubt that I will. I am 91 and very interested in having my yard look nice. Barb

I ordered the black and decker weed trimmer last June. We don’t use it for 2 months total since then, the head is broke. That’s a lot of money for the time frame. Junk!!!!! Maybe that’s why you sell the head and show us how to buy and put another one on. I am not the only owner with a black and decker head that’s broke. Oh and the battery doesn’t last that long either! My money is precious as well as my time and needs! Not liking being one of the owners of this product!!!!!!!!!!!

Has the power to cut almost everything I need to cut, except things like saplings or weeds that have gotten really hard. Had weeds/grass that was at least a foot or more tall and it went right through it. It was quite thick!I really like that I can make it shorter. I'm only 5'5" and most weed eater shafts are too long. The guard is better than my corded electric weed eater too, not as much debris is thrown at me in comparison. That's important, since it's often poison ivy that is being cut.It lasts about as long as I do. I can't do my entire yard - it's fairly large and a lawnmower gets destroyed by the rocks so that's out. I do maybe 1/3 to a half of the yard, then wait till another day to do more. That's a good thing! With my corded one I usually do too much at a time, and pay for it with soreness. I imagine I could get another battery if I get more used to it and want to go longer.I especially like the freedom of going wherever I want. With the corded one I could only go as far as the cord reached. I also like the automatic feed, without having to bump it, and being able to buy pre-wound spools.The only bad thing is I wanted to get a reciprocating saw and use the same battery. Alas, the saws only use the 20V batteries, so I'll have to get a whole other set up for that.Added later: Well, now that I'm getting used to it, I'm thinking I will need another battery to go as long as I want to, especially since I put a shoulder strap on it that helps to distribute the weight onto my lower body. The great thing about this one compared to my old corded one is that this one can be made shorter, which really helps when you are not tall to make the head at a better angle. It's also much lighter! Didn't realize it until I picked up the old one to get the strap off it.All said and done, I would buy this again. Worth it.

It not only provides excellent battery power but is light and easy to use. I like the extension feature that allows you to adjust the length to suit your height. I highly recommend this product which comes with a spool of line and battery charger.

Brand new battery flashing red light when charging
Edit: The manufacturer replaced the battery promptly and without a fuss. The trimmer is easy to use, performs as expected and the battery lasts for about 30 - 40 minutes.Just received my new string trimmer. Plugged in the battery to charge and within minutes the indicator light was flashing red. The manual says this is due to a defective battery. I'm so disappointed. I have contacted product support. Depending on the response I get I will happily change my star rating after I've had a chance to actually use the trimmer.

I was hesitant to buy this trimmer since I have a wired one and it works well. It is a Black and Decker and it works very well, but my yard is big and I thought I'd risk investing in the 40V. My expectations were low, but I was surprised. It workes real well and at my advanced age, I no longer have to strength to hold a heavy tool for long. This 40V trimmer is light and powerful. I made a good investment. Let's see now how the battery stands up in time. PS I decided to buy the blower since I already have one 40V battery.
Junk
Waste of money. Bought this a year ago and the motor bearings have already let go and vibrates when in use. My other black and decker which lasted for quite a few years had a variable power setting and could be set to the lowest setting and still worked fine, which also lasted me a few years before the plastic drive gear wore out and stripped. This newer model has one speed and its wide open. RPM is way too high wearing out the motor and using most of the batteries power in no time. Another thing is the very cheaply made charger and battery that comes with this model. The battery after being fully charged never lasts longer than a few minutes before it dies. The battery feels and looks cheaper and the charger is junk. After many years of using Black and Decker tools I will never buy another Black and Decker tool again.
