This is basic stuff — it’s gonna buckle with wet paint, because it’s 90lb paper. Significantly better than copy paper, but if you’re expecting watercolor-paper performance, you have to buy heavier paper. At 19 cents a sheet (what I paid), it’s a good price for decent, large-size, multimedia paper for kids or practice. It’s pretty smooth; there’s enough texture to work for chalk pastel, not too much texture to interfere with pencil/pen, and for watercolor it’s got more of a hot-press texture than cold-press, but it still lets pigments granulate nicely. It WILL buckle with water, though — the pics I took are of a quick wash just to test it out. This paper won’t stand up to heavy washes, and will only allow for light lifting (removing pigment with a brush) before it starts to pill and tear. For 90lb paper, though, I’m impressed I was able to lift as much as I could — it stood up to 6 swipes with a soft brush before any noticeable change to the paper’s texture. The kids love the 12x18” size.

I use the paper for painting with acrylic paint. You would prepare the surface with a few layers of gesso. It's good quality and excellent start for those who is starting as acrylic artist. I would advise to buy it in bulk because it gives good ration quantity to price. It's good product.

This is just like regular drawing paper or very thin cardstock. It is not at all for watercolor. It wrinkles and warps and the paint and water collect in puddles and sits on the surface in some places and dries way too fast in others. I would only use it for my youngest students, and then more for drawing and coloring, not painting.
