I was looking for a glass container that I could heat up easily in order to decrystallize honey without worrying about chemicals from the plastic honey bottles getting into the honey. This is exactly what I needed.Pros:1. Easy to pour honey on to your food.2. Keeps honey sealed without drips that could clog up a spout. Just use your thumb to open the sliding spring closure.3. It does have a soft ring that I think is silicone that sits between the glass jar and the lid that provides the effective seal.4. Keeps any possible bugs out of honey cuz you know the old saying, "You catch more flies with honey than you do with poop!". LOL!5. Easy to heat honey either in the microwave or in a pan with hot water.6. The mechanics of the lid look to be a good quality that will stand the use of high use.CONS:1. There weren't any instructions included. It wasn't that hard to figure out but it would have been nice to know what the ring was for and what it is made of.2. It is very important to remove the top before heating in the microwave. The first time I heated it the microwave I just used 10 second intervals because I was afraid of overheating the honey. Which is exactly what I did, I overheated the honey and when I opened the slide the honey steamed out and onto my hand burning my hand slightly. LESSON LEARNED, heating with the lid on is like heating it in a pressure cooker - so don't do it. Take the lid off and remove the ring first and then slowly heat your honey. This gives you the opportunity to clean both while you are heating the honey slowly.3. While I LOVE the beehive look of the glass, it can be a little difficult to clean the outside of residual honey by just wiping it down.4. Size, I wish that the jar was about half as big again as it actually is now. I have autoimmune diseases and I am finding using honey to be beneficial health wise. So I am using a lot more honey than I used to. Hence my need for a bigger container.5. As I said in the Pros, "the mechanics of the lid look to be a good quality that will stand the use of high use." However, I'm not sure that the coating of the lid will hold up as well. It looks like it might peel off at some point. Again, instructions with identification of the parts and what they are made of would have answered this question.

I am using this as a honey dispenser for my hot tea! It’s small but has a large neck opening making it easy to refill. I find it doesn’t drip from the top and there is an extra rubber seal around the neck for a tight drip free seal there. The handle is easy to grab and it’s sturdy. I would think the bottom can go in the dishwasher as it’s glass, but not sure of the top. Possibly stainless, definitely not plastic but may be chrome. Way better than those wooden sticks that drip everywhere!

Unfortunately this item promotes mold growth. I thought it was the syrup and cleaned it out, bought new syrup, but it happened again. It does not seal the same way the syrup bottles do and allows air and humidity inside. Makes me wonder if restaurant bottles have the same issue.

I liked the shape and the top cap slider opening that pours easily and yet does not leak or drip. I used this first one for honey. I am really satisfied and will get another to hold our syrup.
