My Marantz SR5015, purchased January 2021, started dropping the audio randomly in February 2025. No conditions had changed in my home, I checked all my connections and what not, everything was fine. I placed a small box fan next to the receiver and the audio turned back on. So it was an overheating issue. Being out of warranty and not wanting to have a box fan constantly blowing on my receiver, I immediately thought of AC Infinity as I've bought many of their products over the years and they've always been high quality. I purchased the rear-venting Aircom T8 and have been very happy with it. It's heavy duty, elegant, well made, and the front curvature aligns perfectly with me Marantz. It's a little bit deeper than my receiver so it hangs off the back a bit but keeping it flush in front with my receiver still has the fans lined up perfectly with the top vents of the Marantz, plus the bottom pads are still on the receiver. I played around with the Auto and Smart features quite a bit and, after doing testing and looking at research online, went with the Auto feature. The fan speed at 2 seemed to work the best but the noise bothered me slightly. I bumped it down to the lowest speed of 1 and it still is able to drop the temperature adequately. I have it set to turn on at 85 degrees, drop to 81 degrees, alarm at 95 degrees. So far it's never gone above 85 degrees! In reading reviews, the top-venting model has a lower dB although I wish these fans were just a little quieter. The instructions are just ok, you have to read every Mode setting carefully as they contain settings that affect how the Auto and Smart modes work. My recommendations to AC Infinity is to use quieter fans and update your instructions to be clearer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Build Quality & Keeps My Amp Happy

Just unpacking this device you can feel its quite heavy, actually heavier then I had expected, but this is a good thing, as it shows this is not just a nice looking tin box with some fans in it and is in fact built to similar spec as the audio gear it protects. The T8 looks quite nice with my amp, however its clear the designers had Marantz in there minds when building this. The odd curved shape really only matches a Marantz I would love for them to make this exact device without the curved ends because AC Infinity If Your Listening most amps have flat face-plates so why is it designed around Marantz. Nitpicking aside the unit works very well and is easy to set up once you understand how the various modes work. The AIRCOM T8 comes with a small booklet explaining the setup. Once you have decided how you want it to work by choosing a mode, speed and a target temp for the fans to turn on its basically on auto pilot and I must say it works very well.My test subject is an Onkyo HTR as you may already know these amps can run very hot. I had an older one fail due to how hot it would get during just normal use. I got this to make sure my new Onkyo amp is kept at a nice even temp. So far this unit has been working so well that even after watching movies for part of the day the amp is just warm to the touch where before I added the T8 it would get pretty hot.Note: I do feel they should perfect it to make it quieter because in my opin its not as quiet as I would have liked and expected, but I keep it at 2 and its not too bad, so I wouldn't call this device whisper quite if that's what your expecting. I have mine in a BDI Media Cabinet and with the doors shut during a quite section of a movie I can still hear it a little bit and I wouldn't have this ever set on 5 which is pretty loud and there's no real reason in my setup to do so, Speed 2 keeps my amp at around 89 degrees and im fine with that considering it can go over 118 degrees with no cooling fans in a rack with closed doors.Do I recommend buying one? yes if you have a hot amp and especially if your gear is in a cabinet with closed doors then you will def want one of these its well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars does the job

I bought the Aircom T10 to keep my Onkyo TX-RZ620 AVR cool during extended periods of use, in order to keep it working for the foreseeable future. The unit shipped in excellent packaging, with foam inserts to prevent damage. Straight out of the box, I could tell the T10 was well built and well designed.Installation was simple - position the unit, plug it in, and it begins working. With only 4 buttons on the front panel, programming is quick and easy, allowing you to toggle max fan speed, display brightness, temperature alarm threshold, etc.I initially used Smart Mode, which automatically triggers the fans at the slowest speed setting when the probe (measured) temperature threshold is crossed, and increases fan speed commensurate with subsequent increases in the probe temperature. This mode works very well, but also constantly cycles the fan on and off when the AVR is not taxed. I was assured by AC Infinity that the on/off cycles won't shorten the lifespan of the T10, which has fans rated for 67,000 hours of use(!). Nevertheless, the thought of the fans coming on and turning off over and over with only a 1-degree temperature differential is a bit...distracting.In any event, I've since switched to Auto Mode, which waits until your threshold probe temperature is reached, then runs the fans at an appropriate speed (but only as high as your programmed highest fan setting) until the temperature is decreased by 2 or 4 degrees Fahrenheit, then turns the fans off again. I find this to be a bit less distracting - the fans run slightly faster for longer, but then they're off again for just as long. With regards to distraction, I will say that the fans are definitely audible at a distance of ~12 feet. Obviously, the lower the fan speed, the lower the fan noise. I set my fans to max out at setting 3, and I find settings 1-2 are lightly audible if your TV/movie/music has a lull (i.e. when there is no sound coming from your speakers). However, if there's any sound coming from your AVR, you likely won't detect fan noise unless you try really hard! Finally, my AVR is not one that runs excessively hot (I believe Denon and Marantz are the hotter-running brands). I haven't pushed my AVR since installing the T10, with a prolonged period of loud (7.2 channel) music, but the Aircom T10 easily keeps my probe temperature under 80 degrees at normal use levels, with a max fan speed of only 2 (out of 6)! This does the job, and does it well.

Fantastic appliance.I was previously using a USB desk top fan positioned behind my AV equipment to blow air across the top of my pioneer SCLX901 atmos receiver. It was fine for a while. Kept the receiver cooler than without a fan. But the fan wasn’t silent and was distracting. The receiver still got warm if run for a while. So I looked for something purpose built. This cooler is damn good. Sits seemlessly on top of my receiver and blends right in. I run it on auto mode and on the lowest fan-speed setting and the receiver stays cold, even after watching a couple of movies at an enthusiastic volume level, running all 11 channels and 3 subs. The cooler is silent. You don’t even notice when it comes on and off when it needs to.Even if run at higher fan speeds, I don’t think you even notice any noise. To answer an audiophile’s question, yes, the indicator light can be switched off by holding the mode button for 3 seconds, which is a great feature. There is an indicator light to tell you the unit is on, but it’s tiny and not a distraction. This unit has a rear exhaust, so consider this for your application.Definitely a must buy to protect your equipment, especially if you spend a high dollar amount on your stuff.

    FRONT EXHAUST COMPONENT COOLING FAN

    P. · March 20, 2019

This is the second AC Infinity cooling fan I have owned, the first being several years ago, and these units are amazing!**** Quiet. Running the fan at level 4 out of 6 is more than enough to cool my 7 channel amplifier (2oo RMS per channel). Level 6 moves a lot of air (160 cf) but when listening to quieter audio, the noise begins to interfere.**** Efficient. Like I said, at fan speed 4 it moves enough air to keep my receiver at the set-point desired.**** User settings! The set point can be set from 32° F to 140° F (operating limits). There are 4 modes being, Auto, Smart, Eco-Smart, and Full On or Off. Eco-Mode shuts off the indicators when not in use. I prefer the Smart Mode to take advantage of all the settings I can.**** Alarm Setting. Allows a user preset temperature alarm point so that it may cause the user to realize the heat is just too much. Other panel notifications are for Fan Failure Alert, Temperature Alarm Alert (audible), and Display Lock Alert (audible).**** °F or °C temperature readout with choice of buffers (2° C or 4° F).**** Connectivity. Want to add more fans? There are 2 USB ports on the back for up to 6 MultiFan or Airplate Fansto be plugged into to share the programming!**** Great, hassle free 2 year warranty.Totally Recommended!UPDATE : This unit has front exhaust and now I wish I had purchased the rear exhaust unit. Despite being quiet, the fan noise can clearly be heard during quiet passages (level 4 speed). If you are buying for a home theater receiver, get the rear exhaust.
