Some electronic connections are 'gold' or goldtoned as a selling point; this one, as pictured appeared gold-toned but as delivered was plain metal. I do not know if goldtone affects performance - depends on the material. Otherwise it appears to work and is configured as represented, RCA 'male' in, 3mm 'female' for male 3mm jack

Without good headphones with volume control, you’re volume will be at only ONE set level. Good material and length of cable - no issues with the product quality whatsoever. The design could have more capabilities, for sure upping the price some but worth it for user experience

Have a tv without option to plug in headphones. Did some research and didn't quite understand what some folks recommended, but one person gave me all the info I needed. I purchased this combination, plugged in where applicable and now I have the headphone option. Also, I can watch tv at night in my bedroom without bothering the downstairs neighbor. I do have limited sound control, but I've got it to work to a comfortable sound. Originally my standard tv stopped working after 2 years. Lovely. Tried to purchase a brand name standard tv with headphone option.....good luck with that! Attached this combination cable to an older standard Sony tv; this solved a problem for a small cost.

I bought a competing £12 pound RCA to 3.5mm female adapter cable that was so bad you couldn't even plug anything into the stereo mini jack without the cable falling out, and it only worked with mono audio.This cable does exactly what I need, and is much cheaper than other similar disfuncional cables available. Don't waste your money on name brand trash, this serves the purpose and is just as good or better.
