You can't beat this product for real stone. It's very easy to trim and install and looks great. We have had no problems with adhesion and applied directly over old wallpaper without any special prep. There are some irregular edges, because it's real stone, but the panels are flexible and can be manipulated while being applied to fix any potential gaps. We are super happy with the product and plan to use it for other projects as well.

i installed this over old 80's paneling and wallpaper. i used recommend loctite for extra adhesion. product is light weight and easy to cut with tin snips. i had looked at other foam panels but too thick and unrealistic, stone tiles too heavy and would not be able to stick to base surfaces. the closest thing i can compare it to would be weight and thickness of an asphalt shingle. just love the look and character it adds to a room.

We purchased this product after seeing one of these tiles in person at our local hardware store (but it was only sold individually at the store so we ordered here in bulk since we needed so many tiles). We installed this tile to cover our new TV and electric fireplace wall.The pros: Using the recommended Loctite adhesive, the tiles were very easy to install and stayed in place (we did not try installing a tile without the adhesive). We purchased the Tin Snips TOOLMAK 10 Inch Straight Pattern Tinners Snips with Comfort Grip Sheet Metal Cutting Shears Heavy Duty for $16 and the tiles were super easy to cut with those. The thicker tiles were a little tougher but it was much easier than breaking out any bigger tools. The tiles themselves are gorgeous and fit perfectly with our rustic modern theme that pairs gray tones with wood. I love the 3d quality of the tiles that provides dimension and the feel and look of real stone all in a very easy tile to use. Also, using the recommended Miracle Sealants 511QT6 511 Impregnator Sealer (which was super easy to use), you can't even tell that you sealed the tiles with anything and didn't discolor the tiles at all.The cons: The only cons we ran into with this product was (due to my husband's OCD) realizing that the tiles are NOT perfectly straight. So, my husband would put a level on the tile as he installed it so that the ones above and below would also be level, but because the tiles weren't level - this didn't matter. We still had to be careful that our rows didn't become crooked (if that makes sense). Also, a couple of the corners of the tile did come up after a while, but we just added additional adhesive and haven't had any other problems. We will need trim to cover the outside corners.Overall I would highly recommend this product as it is beautiful and easy to work with. However, be patient and cautious when working with it and don't take for granted that because your first row is level, that the remaining rows will be as well. I am very very happy with the finished product!!!!

Fairly easy to install one bit of advice you should use a heat gun and heat up the back of the product before attaching to the wall quality is great and looks great. PROBLEM!!!!! Even if you follow the instructions this product starts falling off the wall, even with additional adhesive in the corners it needs major adhesive. It does not say that any instructions plus it shrinks I’ve got gaps now this product should be recalled!!!

These tiles look terrific! You can tell they are made from real stone because no two tiles are alike! Our project was quite a bit more expensive than I’d have preferred, we used them for wainscoting instead of backsplash, so there was a lot more square footage involved. We installed them on top of rock-look wallboard, so we used Loctite PL3 to make sure they stayed put. I had a few areas of the wallboard that I scrubbed with bleach to remove mildew and found that the tile’s own adhesive stuck extremely tightly to those areas in particular, so trust the manufacturers recommendations about preparing the surface because I now wish I’d scrubbed all of the areas whether they already seemed clean or not! They are easy to cut with tin snips or a saw, but almost impossible to cut with a utility knife because of the layer of fiberglass they use to strengthen the tiles. DIY Decor was extremely helpful and responded quickly to my inquiries. They also cheerfully refunded the extra tiles I had purchased because I had calculated the footage incorrectly, and didn’t charge anything for return shipping. I’m a very happy customer!!
3.0 out of 5 stars Looks good but sheets are not square peals off over time
I really like the looks of this product and how it turned out to begin with. This was also supposed to be easy to install but not all of the pieces in the box where cut square or to the same length/width making it difficult to line them up and install without custom cutting/trimming about 30% of the pieces. I did make sure to thoroughly clean the walls multiple times and also used a rubber tile roller press them onto the wall and still ended up having some of them pop off within the first couple of months and continue to have them keep popping both off of both the wall and also the slate itself separating from the adhesive which is stuck to the wall. I did notice this seems to be more of a problem with the ones on the exterior wall which I am assuming is coming from the heating and cooling of the wall during the hot summer days. A quick fix to this is to use a spray glue or adhesive to reapply the tiles that come off but having to do it every couple of weeks is getting very annoying. I'd like to give this a 4.5 for looks and a 2.5 overall as they need a better adhesive for application
