Easy to set up and use. No coding or real calibration needed. Accurate as compared to glucose readings obtained from my other meter. I got this as a back up meter which I could afford to have at this inexpensive price. Of note, this is not a starter kit. Does not come with testing strips or other supplies, but I already had these items. $5 for the meter alone is still quite a bargain.

This tester is easy to use. It comes out of the box ready to use. The only reason for the just 4 stars is the case. The case has gotten cheaper. No zipper for the extras, just an open pouch. I like to put the lancets in the pouch. It is deep, but they still fall out. The outer zipper doesn't work as well either. But, the tester itself is still the same reliable tester. You get your results in 5 seconds or less. There is history in the tester so you can easily check how you've been doing. It comes with a log book too. Just a tiny amount of blood is needed. I see other testers out there. Mostly more expensive. This one works and is what I need, so that's why I've bought the 3rd one. The very first one I bought finally quit working after years of service. I now have 2 testers. One for camping and one that stays at home.

The media could not be loaded. Item was highly in effective. I had 4 different reading in less than a minute. 89, 97 123 and 103. I have never had a machine provide such varied results I'm the same time frame. I followed all instructions and even bought the suggested control solutions 1 and 2 and used them before using the monitor. The test strips and control solutions do not expire until 2024 and 2025 respectively so it must be the machine that is inaccurate. I tried it another day and the numbers were 86, 101 and 91 in less than a minute. That is seven test strips used in two days and I can't get a definite reading. Mind you, I've been diabetic since 2014. I have been using relion prime for the last two years and it was as accurate as the monitor at my doctor's office. Now that they discontinued it, I can't get a good machine so I will continue my search.
