I first tried baking with carob chips five decades ago. A backpacker at the time, I wanted biscuits loaded with dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate that wouldn't turn into a melted mess in my pack. Carob chips were perfect. It is a pseudo-chocolate in taste, but I liked it for its own sake. Plus, you can buy it with no added sugar, as in this product. With a bag of such biscuits, I could for a few days with nothing else to eat. And while biscuits are pretty heavy, I could leave all the cooking gear at home. Today I eat carob chips with a spoon of peanut butter as a quick, sustaining snack during eating windows in my intermittent fasting program. I love it.

If I could give this 100 stars I would. These are incredibly delicious. We don’t eat them to taste like chocolate. We eat them because we like them but I have to say we.LOVE these more than any others that we have tried. I do also appreciate that they don’t have stimulants in them like chocolate does I put a little sea salt on my and I feel like I’m in heaven.🤗

What do these taste like? Coffee + chocolate.SO good. It's a deep, rich chocolatey-ish flavor that reminds me of coffee and chocolate. Not sweet, definitely on the bitter side.If you already like bitter things or dark chocolate, I think you'd enjoy this.The product is 5 stars but the bag it came in is like a 2 star. It is not resealable, and if you opened it wrong you would completely spill the entire bag all over the floor. I almost did. They need to put this in a simple resealable bag or a different container. I had to use a twist tie to close it.That's all folks! Thanks for reading.

I've grown up eating carob. This bag was awful. Burnt taste which lead to a long aftertaste of yuck that a glass of milk didn't even help counteract. I had read the mixed comments before I ordered and just thought bad taste reviews were from inexperienced carob buyers... But I was wrong. These chips are nasty and the seller has a no refund policy because they must know their product is inferior.

I made PB cups & I couldn't even tell it wasn't chocolate. These are super bomb & get a million stars! They melt good with avocado oil. I added a drizzle at a time until the chips became syrupy. When the 'chocolate' hardened it has the perfect texture & snap. Even the taste of chocolate lingers on the tongue, exactly like the real thing. To be honest, the burps taste like chocolate! Very excellent product. I can hardly wait to make chocolate bark, Snickers, Peppermint Patties, orange chocolate & Mounds/Bounty bars & anything else I want. I also recommend a powder just like real cocoa powder: Herbaila 1lb carob powder for brownies etc.

I'm used to eating Mrs. J's they are soft and creamy and super delicious and the unsweetened is sweet. These on the other hand didn't have as much flavor and had a strange texture to them. I'll prob bake with them and see how they are but they are not for snacking.

I almost didn't get these carob chips based on the conflicting reviews, but I am glad I went ahead and got them. These are sweet enough that I don't want added sweetener. To me, they taste much better than the sweetened carob chips that I had previously. My husband now has a breakfast of various kinds of nuts, coconut flakes, and these carob chips that keeps him going for hours. For the first time in years, I was able to make no-sugar Reese's peanut butter type cups by melting these with no sugar peanut butter and adding Roma (coffee alternative). To make them my own, I also added a piece of banana and almond slivers. Sooo good! For those new to melting these things, it helps to have a double boiler, so you boil water, then put another pan on top of that water in which you put the carob chips. This allows them to melt without scalding. I fully recommend these. This is my second purchase.
