With all 3 of our kids, we did casts of their feet every month or two of the first year of life. We just finished them with our third and plan to buy a shadow box to display them all. But it's so much better than a photo, we truly forgot just how fast they grow in that first year, and being able to have something to show how tiny they all started, and to even remind ourselves, is so special. We tried a few different brands but came back to Luna Bean consistently because it's the best quality. Clear instructions, really does change color as it dries, and even with 3 kicking babies, we got some really amazing casts (and some not so amazing but still worth it ones). Mixing the powder to make the actual cast is easy, and we made sure to pour into the mold within a few hours, and haven't had any issues.I will say, using it on young kids/ babies can be challenging. If they don't stay still in the first 2 minutes, you'll end up with an unusable mold. And if you have a kid with sensory issues, it might make it even harder. We had the best luck taking the mold during nap time, or during their screen time.

I got this kit for a friend of ours who had a baby and I’m so glad I did! I did this with each one of my girls and made a shadowbox with what they came home from from the hospital for them to have forever. We did the same thing for her. It was an easy kit to use worked wonderfully the baby did great with it. We did it while she was sleeping highly recommend you will never get a chance to have them that small again

This kid is very nicely put together and has plenty of material to make two pieces. It does take some practice and expertise to use properly as bubbles and breakage are a part of learning to do this project. Otherwise the directions are very clear and help you through the process.

The media could not be loaded. My first attempt at the hand/feet, I didnt have water warm enough so my babies constant moving messed up the molds. I bought another kit to try again and the first try, water was too warm and it turned to rubber before I even had to chance to mix all the way (my own fault. Not the products fault). But after getting a good water temp, I got the perfect mold of his little hand ❤️Another trick I learned from redoing it is to buy a different container from a dollar store that has a lid, and shake the casting material instead of stirring. Much easier and a little less messy.As long as you get a good water temp, this is so worth it!! Fairly easy to do, although you definitely want to have two adults to do it. Would definitely recommend!!

We are pretty crafty people and wanted to do this with my baby like my mom did for my sister and I. This kit was incredibly hard to use. The first batch solidified too fast and was chunky. The second, too slow. They do not set you up for success with this kit. It seemed like a bad batch but then I read the other reviews here…. Needless to say, this did not turn out whatsoever. I bought this for my daughter to use with her 4 month old! I will say you need to read the directions carefully before doing this. We messed the first one up and had to re do it with the second one. But overall great product!

Better buy materials separate, even that I bought this one I has to buy more alginate from Bolo because the one that it came isn't that great it caused bubbles the ruined the cast. So I feel is better buy the materials separately and you get more and better quality for your money.

Such an amazing thing to make with a young infant. Easy instructions, just ensure it doesn't have lumps and even a wiggly baby should get a nice mould. Enough material to get multiple attempts. Highly recommend Luna Bean.

The plastics Bowl was brokeOnce I put all the powder and liquid in , it all came out from the side , and did not work

Love this it was complicated to read the instructions we read it like 3 times but it was worth it and every penny it turned out so beautiful I wish I had bought this right when my daughter was born better Late than never
Don't pay too much for brand - buy Kmart or Temu
It's a mild rip-off - don't pay too much for a brand.Chosen a mid range product, which is this one, thought there must be something different from too-cheap products however it was just a paying too much for a brand, which is no need to. You can just buy Kmart or Temu alternatives which does the exact same thing. Even this product does not give instruction on how much warm or cold water we need to use (temperature wise) - so I ended up using a bit warm water and it gets harden too quick...Just don't do the same mistake I did and buy something cheaper - it does its job well.
Missing 1 alginate molding powder
Can not wait to mould my childrens hands and feet but unfortunately the box was missing 1x baby foot alginate molding powder :(
