Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. These paints can be used on styrene resins, Styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly and can be blended easily. Prior to curing, paint can be washed away with plain water.
When airbrushing make sure to use any of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077.
X designated colors have a glossy finish while XF designated colors are flat finish.
The paint can be thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya X-20A Acrylic thinner.
The paint can be also thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner will yield faster drying results and a harder finish.
For better paint brushing results use Tamiya Paint Retarder (87114) for a smoother brushstroke free finish.

These are excellent to do candy paintjobs with. I've learned with this clear blue that if you want a true blue candy coat you'll need a silver or chrome base coat. I made the mistake (turned out to be a good mistake however) of using clear blue over top of a metallic gold without thinking the color would change to green. This is just my personal experience with using this Clear Blue. Added photo of my Metallic gold base coat with Blue Clear over top. As I stated, happy mistake. Bob Ross style. I really like how it eventually turned out.

Great product line and wonderful for tinting a clear mini blue or punching up a blue layer with some highlights. If painting clear items, thin it a bit for best results. It dries quickly and two thin coats are preferable to a single thick one.

The SMELL is HARSH, the spray can works faster and better.I tried painting my model pieces with this bottle using a brush, and it worked fine: but the smell was terrible.
