These butter knives are very attractive and perfect for a rustic style kitchen. While not of the highest quality, they will give you plenty of great use with proper care. As others have mentioned, the finish on the wood is water soluble and may stain, which is why you need to take proper care. Could have a better finish, but for such a great cost, this will last an adequate amount of time. I haven't seen any issues with rust yet, I hand wash and dry immediately. I love the color! Cutest butter knives I've ever owned.

The attachment of the handle to the steel -- there's a tiny bit of play there. And the wood itself is rather unfinished feeling. The blade's edge, even on the non-serrated side, has a relatively sharp edge and so when you dip into a plastic tub, you'll hear that scrape. Have a little plastic with your butter?Buuut, these were not very expensive, so.... they'll do.If you can afford better - do.

The spreaders are a great size, very inexpensive and does the job but beware of splinters! The wooden handles are so cheap that two were splintered when I took them out of the package. Can't let the grandkids use them to make their sandwiches.

I use these when preparing sandwiches. Can slice my bread/roll and then easily spread butter or other condiment on it without having to change the tool. Serrated knives are great for slicing, but because they are not very wide, it sometimes takes several tries to get enough butter to cover the bread. This tool eliminates that.

Serrated knives are great for slicing, but because they are not very wide, it sometimes takes several tries to get enough butter to cover the bread. This tool eliminates that.
