The media could not be loaded. Bought this few weeks ago for my two year old son. He really likes and is intrigued by the train. The train does really well of pulling few carts. So it’s really strong. The durability is great as well! I would definitely recommend buying the train for your kids. It’s a great gift and great fun!It stays on the train track; it performs really well! As you can see, the train stays on the tracks while pulling some carts.It’s definitely easy to use and to install battery inside the train. My 4 year old daughter would like one too, so I might order another one for her. Overall, I really like the train. I don’t see any issues. It last longer than I expected. My kids play with it for at least an hour and it’s still going. I believe it also depends on what brand of battery you use. If you buy cheap batteries, it won’t last that long.

Honestly we got the Brio Diesel electric, the switch acts up and turns off at random! it eats battery’s, it’s slow and it can only pull 2-3 cars over the bridge.Then I ordered this Hape Red 1 train, it’s faster, can pull 4-5 cars over the bridge and last longer. Also the switch acutely stays in place!Brio is definitely not worth it! Buying this from now on!

My 2 year old son loves his new train engine. He wants to have it running at all times and comes back to check that its still going when he's not playing with it. This means we've used up a lot of AAA batteries so I decided to try using Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and they work MUCH better. Not only is it more economical but the Ni-MH batteries can deliver more current under load so the train runs much better when pulling lots of cars or going up hill. With the rechargeable batteries it can now pull double the number of cars uphill as with the alkaline batteries. Now the issue is more about the wheels traction than motor power. The toy itself is really well built, it has a metal bottom and plastic top and has withstood a toddlers play style so far. The switch on the top is easy for my son to move on his own and he's figured out which way is forward and which way is reverse, but he can't quite put it in the middle/off position. I am worried about him grinding the gears when he tries to push it around, but from listening to the noise it makes, it might be designed with that in mind. Overall this was his favorite Christmas toy, so I'm happy!

Our 5 year old grandson loves playing with the large train track at our house. We have lots of small wooden train cars for this type of track and my husband thought a battery powered engine would be a fun addition. I read the reviews on this one and knew ahead of time that the engine would pull about 3 cars up an incline. And that is what we found also. It chugs along pretty slowly, but we are not in any hurry and that gives the little guy enough time to run around to another place and change the track direction each time, which he really enjoys doing.When the 5 year old is at school the little sister plays with this too even though she is not precise enough to get it on the track most of the time. This little engine gets a work out and can handle some toddler abuse from the little person. I would recommend this and purchase again.

ITS VERY QUIET WHEN RUNNING!!I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase as some of the "gold standard" brand trains and this one meets and/or exceeds expectations when comparing to those!Me: I have two kiddos under the age of 3 so these trains are for fun play (vs model train track set ups), meaning they get played with rougher and in unique ways!Pros+ This is the quietest train engine by far, it's just a little hum noise. This alone will make me a repeat buyer!+ Powerful- this actually is more consistently powerful than the other brand engines that we have.+ Movement; it goes forward and backward via the switch on top+ Size comparison- similar to the regular size engines of Brio (see picture)+ Compatibility- runs smoothly on our various brands of wooden track including Brio, Melissa and Doug, and generic off brandCons- the switch to detemine directions can be difficult to get into the middle position to stop- you push the switch backwards to make it reverse, push it into the middle position to make it stop/turn off, and push it forward to make it go forward. My toddler is great at getting it to go forward and backwards but typically needs help making it stop. I attempt to demonstrate this in the video.I purchased this on prime day for near $10 and think it was a great deal at that price. Again, the quietness of the engine alone makes me a believer!

I loved this train for my 3-year-old’s birthday! It was a big hit, and the little light and rotating magnetic hook were nice touches. However, the motor could be a bit stronger, and the reverse feature seems unnecessary for this age group. My son had some trouble figuring out how to turn it off and kept accidentally switching it to reverse. If the button design was more age-appropriate, it would be easier for little ones to use. Despite these minor issues, it’s a fun and engaging toy that my child enjoyed!

Verarbeitung/ Qualität:Die Verarbeitung vom Zug ist sehr gut. Diese ist sehr stabil, Robust und sauber verarbeitet wurden. Es gibt hier keine scharfen bzw. gefährlichen Kanten. An der Lok wackelt auch nichts und es sitzt alles sehr fest. Das Kind hat die Lok auch mehrmals hinfallen lassen & während der Fahrt gegen die Richtung geschoben. Trotzdem funktioniert der Zug immer noch einwandfrei! Auch die Farbe und co. Bleibt sehr gut erhalten.2. Mechanik, Magnet & Spieldauer:Die Mechanik ist sehr robust, stark und ziemlich sicher! Man muss sich hier keine Sorgen machen, das sich die Person/ das Kind sich hier verletzten könnten. Die Mechanik hält auch sehr viel aus (Wie bereits bei Punkt 1 beschrieben). Die Lok kann auch Problem „Steigungen“ befahren und zugleich Anhänger angehangen haben.Die Magnete halten bei uns sehr gut! Auch während der Fahrt, beim ziehen anderer Wagons oder Züge.Die Batterien halten bei uns relativ lange, allerdings ist dies Nutzungsabhängig.3. Kleiner Kritikpunkt:Das anhalten der Lok ist am Anfang was heikel. Hier verrutscht der Schalter schnell nach vorne oder hinten.4. Fazit:Es ist eine sehr stabile, robuste und optisch coole Lok. Die Verarbeitung kann ich nur loben, außerdem ist diese sicher (wenn die An ist). Sie kann Steigungen rauf fahren und genügend Wagen ziehen. Von mir eine klare Empfehlung!!
