We chose this unit because of the no-smudge screen. With kids at home, this means no fingerprints on the glass—a HUGE benefit.For installation, I'll note that the face of the product is only removable if you remove the entire unit. This means repairs or access will be difficult in the future. It's also important to size your framing large enough to be able to slide the unit in and out.It's not quite as bright as I would like, particularly on sunny days, but it does have a nice glow in the evening. The heater and timer function is nice, but it's the heat up, rather than out. Depending on placement, this may heat your mantle or TV rather than your room.Overall, I have recommended this product to others. I personally think most electrical fireplaces look tacky, this one doesn't.

We absolutely love this electric fireplace. We were so sad that we moved to this condo and weren't allowed to have a gas fireplace, which we used all the time through fall and winter. This one is a great alternative that looks so realistic and even has a heater if we want to use. So nice to snuggle in front of our fake fire through those cold winter nights. Our Grandsone who is an electrician easily assembled it. What a great value for the money.

The media could not be loaded. Love the way this worked out in the design of my fireplace wall. Second TS purchase.. but this is THE ONE THOUGH !!

It looks great and was easy to install. The bezel could be a little larger so the hole it fits in does not need to be so precise.One issue is an annoying grinding noise when the flames are on. I have contacted the company to see what they will do for me. It is under warranty still.Updated*****I sent the company a video with the noise it was making and they sent me a new unit, no questions. The new one is perfectly quiet.

Love, love, love our fireplace. It arrived on time and in good condition. We have temporarily hung it on the wall with the bracket that came with it (quick and easy) but plan to install as recessed when we have more time. It allows 3 flame choices and we love the blue and orange combination and we use the logs not the crystals. It looks sooooo real. We bought the mess screen and are really happy that we did. We don't use the heater very often but when we do it is just to "stand by the fire and warm up" and it works great for that. Reminds me of when we were kids playing in the snow and we would come in by the fireplace to thaw out. We would definitely buy this again!
3.0 out of 5 stars Installation instructions for Model 80013 are contradictory and incorrect
Installation instructions were contradictory and incorrect for the model I purchased. Instructions refer to a glass panel but this model does not come with a glass panel. The front panel is held in place with hooked tabs. None of the tabs lined up with the mating slots on the fireplace. I had to struggle for hours trying to get everything back in alignment. Once the front panel is installed the instructions say to insert 2 screws in the the two upper tabs on the fireplace. However, once the front panel is installed the upper tabs are not accessible. Very frustrating. I had to make a couple of custom brackets to secure the top of the front cover to the fireplace. Once I finally got beyond those issues, the fireplace looks nice and operates well. Touchstone needs to update their instructions/ procedures for the 80013 model.

We have really loved this fireplace. The sceen on front makes it look way more realistic than the glass I think. We loved the size too- it looks like a traditional fireplace. My only negative review would be that I wish the flames looked a little more realistic. I’m not sure that’s possible with an electric fireplace but just a thought. I do like that it puts out heat though! It does help warm up the room!
