Must have for builders, custom fab, and welders. The look is basic, but you look like a pro when you are using a quality trusted name, speedy to slap down and get square, aluminum so it's really light, accurate beyond 1/16in, fits in most tool boxes. I'd also get the mini square to complete the set.

Pros: It is a real set of SWANSON speed squares! Comes with handy instruction booklet. Very sturdy and rigid metal for years of tough service in construction fields and trustworthy accuracy.You can use it as a SAW guide for quick short cuts angled or straight with something like a battery powered skill saw with good accuracy.CONS: Like any super duper handy tool, there is a learning curve to get the most out of it. I strongly recommend watching a few videos and learn what you need most first. I did find some minor casting defects in my smaller square that came in the set but the defects are purely cosmetic so I did not contact the seller. It would have been nice for their QC to catch this one and reject it before it made it out the door.

i highly recommend these squares. I have several different speed squares, but this brand is the only "square" one. How do I know, checked with a large precision machinist square of known accuracy. They are good. I have two of the smaller and one of the larger. i use them in my wood shop everyday. These are cast alloy squares that are machined after casting. You can see the machine marks. They are the gold standard of speed squares IMHO. They do what the name implies, square.everything else is on an angle and it does that well too.

Awesome tool. Well made, thicker than my 7” Stanley. Easy to see markings. Overall looks great
Rafter squares 7" & 12"
Quality steel product, accurate, sturdy and durable. Used it several time since I purchased it with no issues. The steel is coated and resists rusting provided that you wipe it off at the end of the day before storing. The etching is deep and will likely not wear out soon, but time will tell. Very happy with the purchase and with luck I will pass it on to my boys when I'm done with it.
