Bought to replace a very similar lancing device I’d lost, this lancing device failed to live up to the value of its predecessor. The dial to adjust the level of lancet depth doesn’t turn smoothly — frustrating but not a dealbreaker. But, not long after I got the device, the top that screws on to cover the lancet and that is used to set the depth of the stick broke at the neck where it threads onto the main component. Although the break is only a relatively small crack, it makes the lancet depth harder to control because sometimes the unit sits more flush than it does at others. One morning 1.5 may work, but on others it might take a 3, thereby making the device seem like a scary jack-in-the box — you never know how deep the stick will be or how much blood it will draw. It may take several sticks to get enough blood, or one stick may go way too deep. Ouch! Lancing devices are intended to remove that unpredictability, and this one fails in that respect as well as in its craftsmanship. I was left wondering if this device was a poorly made knock-off of my old look-a-like device. Disappointing. . . and painful.

Excellent lancing device. Very well made. Spring mechanism is very solid. I haven't had any issue drawing blood with this device. A suggestion to improve this device would be that instead of having a cap that unscrews like most caps on a bottle, that it instead be a simple half twist in one direction. I've had a few times where I've put the cap back on and it didn't align properly. Overall this is a lancing device that I would buy again.

The lancet device that came with my glucose monitor just did not seem to work well. Even at setting # 5 it would not prick my finger.The solution was to just partially plug in a lancet so it would stick out. However to me that was not acceptable and as such decided to buy a new lancet device.This one has a nice feature of ejecting the lancet automatically and not have to yank it out with one's hands and risk getting an unwanted jab. I can set this to # 5 and with zero pain and get a small enough prick to draw enough blood.I really like this lancet device and can not see how one could be any better.On a side note, I am not a diabetic or even close to one. I just bought a glucose monitor to see just where I may stand and so far all of my readings have been very good.
