The XDT11Z features a Makita-built 4-pole motor with variable speed (0-2,900 RPM and 0-3,500 IPM) that delivers 1,460 in.lbs. of Max Torque. At only 5-3/8" long and 2.8 pounds (with battery, sold separately), it has a compact and ergonomic design with less weight for reduced operator fatigue, and a rubberized soft grip for increased comfort on the job. The built-in L.E.D. light illuminates the job area for applications in dark spaces and close quarters.
It's part of Makita's expanding 18V Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. This easily takes off lug nuts and other large bolts such as those on brake calipers and suspension components. It doesn’t have the torque to release crank bolts or CV axle nuts - for that you’ll need to look at the higher torque models. But for its size - it’s excellent.

I have compared my brushless version to this one and the torque is noticeably different. I bought a second one for a spare. It will snap a 1/4" bolt. The only thing I don't like about my original is the rubber guards around the driver keep peeling loose. I've had to glue them back and in some case I just cut them off out of frustration. I have beat the dog out of this drill and it still has the power of day 1.
