This really works well with chalk markers and some chalk. I don't know if it is the material but not all chalk works with this. Not made from the slate boards that we all know from school. We use this in our home to write out scheduling for our household. Clean up is really clean. A bit of soap and a sponge or Windex does the trick. Mounting is a standard imbedded picture frame mount. If you want you can buy small frame mounts to connect a wire but it comes with the nail and mounting goods if this is where you want to go. Good product for what it will be used for.

I really do like the size of this but there could be some improvements overall. The markers show up MUCH better in the photos than they do in person for some reason.PRO:-- The size is much better for my purposes than the 2 smaller boards I was using.-- This can be hung both in portrait and in landscape style.-- The frame is very well-made and of better quality than I expected.CON:-- While the board is easy to write on, I had to find just the write markers. Some of my liquid chalk markers (that work really well on some other boards) sometimes skip on this. Also, the board tends to mattify liquid marker ink to the point that the colors lose some of their vibrance. I have neon markers and metallic markers that don't all show well on the board (but they showed up fine on my other boards).-- When trying to hand this in portrait style, the nail holes are somehow "off" (or maybe I did something wrong.) It would have been nice to have some kind of attached hardware or even a wire for easier hanging. I wasn't able to hang this with tacks because of the larger heads on them; I used nails instead. Once I got this hung up, I didn't want to take it down to take a photo of the back! I just change the message while it's hanging.Overall, I do like this and, for the $14 price, I can't really complain. I am going to look into getting some super-vibrant markers to see if that helps.

Good Quality
When I first opened the box, I was unsure about the quality as it did not feel like an average chalkboard. I purchased the chalk markers and I am very impressed with this board! We purchased it to go in our gym and it works great. The chalk markers are easily removed with windex and a cloth. Good value for cost.

Liquid chalk not easily removed from a chalkboard
The liquid chalks are great for drawing but not on chalkboards, they cannot be removed with a dry duster, they need to be washed off and if the chalkboard is old, the chalk marker lines cannot be removed.
Great size - kids practice their Spelling words and their math!
Visiting children go wild when the blackboards come out 👍
