Original switch failed causing all power locks and the key fob to not work. Got one from the junkyard and same thing. This one fixed the issue, now the power locks work and from the key fob too. I would also get some plastic clips that hold the door card in since they will likely break when installing this part.

The media could not be loaded. Tried this to fix my no power lock working on all doors for my 01 Cherokee XJ and fixed the issue. Quality seems good , fits good we will see how long it will perform but for the price can't complain.

As many other Jeep Cherokee owners have found, the power door locks on the XJ Cherokee go wonky at some point. My key fob would work to lock/unlock about half the time. When it did NOT work, I could hear the relay 'click' somewhere on the pass side of the vehicle. A little research on the Jeep forums and I learned the relays (lock and unlock) are actually in the passenger side door unit with the power window and power door lock switches. The forums recommended Switch Doctor for the replacement part. I was fixing a 2000 Cherokee Limited to give to my stepson on the weekend. The switch arrived in ONE day. I had it installed (requires taking off the pass side door panel...easy) that afternoon. Door locks are now working everytime. Great price, quick fix and I can stop putting new batteries in the key fobs in a lame attempt to get the old one (182k miles) to work.

I managed to trace the power lock failure on my wife's Cherokee to the passenger power lock window switch. The power lock acted erratically. Some times worked and most of the times it did not work at all.As soon as I replaced the OEM switch with this one, the power locks started working perfectly, both from inside the vehicle and by using the key fob.
