The side zipper makes them so convenient to use. I got a pair of these as a graduation gift and I wore them almost daily for 4 years. Got these about a month ago as work boots for my boyfriend and he loved them! For better perspective, he works 12hr shifts 5 days a week in a metal extrusion plant - regularly entering the ovens.. He says the boots are really comfortable & aren't too heavy, they don't sweat his feet to death, and the soles haven't melted from the ovens heat. The ease of having a zipper option for on/off processes was a huge plus! Would definitely recommend.

I've had other red wing boots before and I destroyed them great, but these ones not so bad. And to my surprise, I have very wide feet, and they actually fit pretty good.

I have spent many years buying Red Wing King Toe boots, they are comfortable but only last about a year before the toe starts wearing through to the cap. Because of policy changes with the company I could no longer order that boot on-line, so I started searching for a replacement. I was leery of this Irish Setter boot from the start, I don't care for the side zipper, but thought I would give it a try. After a year of punishing use, constantly crawling, climbing and even walking on hot surfaces, I am impressed with the comfort and durability of the boot. I believe it may outlast any other work boot I have bought in the past. It is water proof and gives good grip even in the mud. The toe is roomier than it looks, not as much as the king toe, but enough to make it comfortable to wear all day without getting sore toes. I would recommend this boot to anyone who works a trade and needs good protection for their feet.

Boots come with zipper, which is great to get these boots off as quickly as possible after the workday. These are the most expensive boots I have ever purchased and the most uncomfortable. I have tried to break them in as long as I can swapping them out with my tried and true wolverine brand. These Irish setters are painful to both left and right foot near top of big toe. There is little to no padding in that area of the boot where the toe cap is located. If not for this painful event I would have rated 5 star, the rest of the boot is great.

These are decent work boots. I’ve loved Irish Setters in the past. These are comfortable boots but they cause my feet to sweat a lot.

I love these zip up style work boots. Very convenient. The only problem is the sole layers separate before the shoe is even close to wearing out. They last me about 2 years and I’m not on my feet all day
