The bamboo is smooth and the points are good. They aren't especially durable, but they feel good in my hands and I am careful not to put high tension on them. I bought the set for myself to have as a "backup" for the needles I use most often. They're a good extra set to have on-hand in case you want to start a new project and your good DPNs are already in use.

The diameter in millimeter is clearly marked on every single needle and accurately reflects size, I checked every one of these packages with two different well respected needle size gauges. Some of the tips are a little square, but it's important to keep your emery board or nail buffer close by when you're a knitter anyway so it's no hassle. This is a really great value for all these beautiful double pointed knitting needles.

When knitting small things in the round, I prefer short bamboo needles, and often, the cheap ones that aren't super smooth. These are perfect, especially if you're doing something like a top-down hat and have that spiky sea urchin of needles going every which way. I like them short, to contain that chaos, and it's actually handy to have them be bamboo and unvarnished, so that the needles don't slip right out.I got these for a project on size 2's (2.75mm), where I found even my Clover Takumis were slippery (they're varnished). For less than the price of a nice set of 2's, I could get all these sizes of needles that are actually handier because they're not slippery.But: They somewhat resemble toothpicks, and you would not want to use them with delicate yarns. (I'm working with cotton right now.)This is also a nice selection of sizes: 2.0mm, 2.25mm, 2.5mm, 2.75mm, 3.0mm, 3.25mm, 3.5mm, 3.75mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, and 5.0mm. This corresponds to US sizes 0, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Metric sizes are stamped on the needles.Just what I wanted and at a price you can't argue with.

i needed 5" dpns and i like bamboo knitting needles so i bought these. and, these are acceptable. what i find with more generic bamboo needles is that they may have splits or burrs at the tips or on the shaft. i smooth those out with a nail file and fill it in/stabilize it with either wood glue or clear nail varnish and that takes care of it. some don't want to deal with that so i figured i'd mention it. if it's not an issue for you, then i recommend these needles coz they're a good price.

I bought these mainly for a set of size 0 needles that I needed right away, with the thought that for the price of one set of needles from a good brand, I could get many sets of needles. Well, four of the needles in Size 0 were fine. The other one has one good point and one point that is stubby and flat, with the main shaft of that needle being a sort of "D" cross section shape rather than a cylinder as you'd expect. The other four needles were a bit rough, but not anything I couldn't easily repair. However, the one bad needle is not fixable. I haven't inspected the other sizes but I'd expect similar quality.It's not worth the carbon footprint to return these given how little I paid, but I wouldn't buy them again.

These aren't bad quality. They have the right amount of surface texture to hold the needle in the stitches without being too "grabby". The problem is, there were 10 sets, not 11. The set is missing the 7 equivalent. Also, if you're accustomed to knitting with numbered needles rather than metric sizes, you will find quite a bit of duplication. I will probably keep them despite missing one set. They are quite cheap for needles. Oh and yes, they are shorter than average needles, but that’s why I bought them. When knitting small figures, shorter needles are a definite advantage.
