Many chicks may look alike at hatch until feathers are grown in. Baby Poultry Leg Bands applied at hatch make it easy to identify between breeds and varieties of chicks. Use one band or multiple bands per leg as identifiers. The leg bands are a quality heavy grade band that hold up well under repeated stress. The handler can easily stretch the band to go over the feet to put on or take off without pulling or twisting the chicks legs, reducing injury. Once they start to get tight from the chicks growing, about every 2 to 4 weeks, remove the old band and put on the next size up. After they have graduated through all sizes they, are ready for a permanent band. Available in packs of 100, 200, and 500 ( extras are included) Mix of Red, Green, Orange, and Purple. Available sizes; Small 3/16" * Medium 1/4" * Large 5/16" Recommendations on sizing. 3/16" is equal to a size 3. Example; day old Quail, Serama, small bantams. 1/4" is equal to a size 4. I was trying to mark which chicks came out of which colored eggs. But since blue wasn’t an option I had to use purple, things like that. They still got the job done and the color options didn’t affect how well they worked - the job got done. Color complaint was just my preference.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I ordered these but they’re basically just hair bands. I think I could have just gone to the dollar tree and got some colored hair bands cheaper and they would have done the same thing…Maybe there’s something special about them but idk what.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great product. I don't have a complaint. 5 stars so far. The *Medium* size bands are perfect for standard size day old chicks. Mine pictured here are Easter Eggers. This would've been helpful info for me to have when ordering, so I want others to have this info so they don't have to wander if they will fit their chicks. They have good stretch and easy to put on with one person/hand. Thick, durable, and not easily broken. They stretch over the chicks feet plenty fine. 4 colors. I had 4 different color eggs, so the 4 colors were perfect for me to keep track of which chicks went with which egg. I just put the bands on them when they were dry, before they went into the brooder. I will update how old the chicks are when/if they grow out of them to go up to the next size. They will stretch with the chicks, but I'm not comfortable with allowing them to be taught on the skin.

Like the idea but they started coming off after a week or two on the chicks and it caused us to loose track of what chicks were from what breeding lines. We found several broken bands on the ground.
