Humidor Humidifier Tubes Set Your Humidor to 70% Humidity (Pack of 2)

Description:

  • DryMistat Humidor Tubes Maintain 70 Percent Humidity
  • Place In Humidor To Control Humidity
  • Comes Full of Crystals Charged With Propylene Glycol Solution

  • DryMistat humidor humidifier tubes are the most revolutionary concept in cigar humidification to come along in decades. By adding water to the DryMistat and then placing it in your humidor, you can keep your humidor at 70% humidity. Why spend money on nice cigars only to see them dry out and become unflavorful? Automatically maintain the 70 percent humidity levels required to keep cigars at their freshest with this set of two DryMistat humidifier tubes. The two way humidification process is controlled by nontoxic chemicals that are charged into the crystals that fill the tubes. Charged with propylene glycol solution, you never have to add anything but plain distilled water again. The crystals swell up when they have water in them and shrink when they need more, taking away all the guess work. In addition, the size is perfect to stash a few in different parts of your humidor, and regulates humidity for up to 25 cigars. Best of all, they are made in the USA and come with a one year manufacturer's warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars I keep three Drymistat sticks in the tuppador and one in the humidor and both of them run a perfect 68%-70% RH depending on the temp of the room

I run a very large sealed plastic container for all my boxes and bundle cigars and a small desk top wooden humidor that hold roughly 12 toro size cigars that I keep handy for a grab and smoke. I keep three Drymistat sticks in the tuppador and one in the humidor and both of them run a perfect 68%-70% RH depending on the temp of the room. It doesn't get any more perfect than that. I use a small squirt bottle with distilled water to refill them and they stay hydrated for roughly 2 months at a time. I have been doing the cigar thing for a very long time and between this product and boveda packs I don't know if there is a better solution to keeping good RH in your humidor, unless your willing to start at the $100+ point and go all digital control. And even then you need electrical. Another thing I like about these sticks is the size. I can slide one into my cigar caddy along with a few good sticks and head to the beach or up to the mountains for a few day and I know I won't end up with dried out cigars at campfire time.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Owner - Some Notes

    K.C. · September 16, 2012

New product - 5 star rating before use because it arrived on time and as advertised. Will update if I experience anything adverse. After some research, I recently ordered two of these with a new ~50 Cigar humidor. I'm still seasoning the humidor, but a few things I've found to note about the Humidifier Tubes:* They arrived in a plain, clear plastic bag. While the products are very simple, you can find instructions for them if you'd like to here:[...]* I've read mixed reviews on whether or not distilled water needs to be used for this product. The DryMistat website explicitly states that plain tap water or distilled water can be used, but since I have some distilled water for seasoning the new humidor on hand (and because DC water can really smell bad - something I don't want to somehow magically absorb into the cigars) I'll be using distilled.* Several other reviews I've read have stated that you should check the state of the crystals in the tube/s once they arrive to determine whether you should add water immediately or not. However, the DryMistat website says to fill on first use. If this somehow causes anything adverse to happen I'll update this review at a later time.

I used one stick properly and the humidor got up to 70% humidity within 3 days and has stayed there ever since. Works well.

Product works, but packaging is non-existent. They came crushed and had to be re-shaped. Fortunately they were not cracked, but they really need more protection for shipping.

These humidor sticks work great for small travel or desktop humidors. And when I say small I would use them on a 20 stick humidor.

1.0 out of 5 stars Perplexing product - a simple sponge is easier and just as effective

    a.l. · February 21, 2021

A northern climate and forced air heating lead to excruciatingly dry conditions in my house (we go through lots of lip balm and hand moisturizer in the winter). I use "Dampit"-style humidifiers in my musical instruments (perforated tubes with sponges), and until now, have been using simple humidifiers in my cigar humidor consisting of spongy material in a plastic box with numerous perforations. One of my Sunday chores every winter is to moisten the humidifiers. But those spongy materials do deteriorate over time, so I did some research on a suitable replacement, and settled on the DryMistat. I was careful to read the instructions that came with it - and also to review the instructions at the product's website. I bought two, in case one wasn't sufficient for my small humidor (yes, it's well seasoned). The first thing I noticed is that it was difficult to determine the moisture level. I wound up topping it off until the gooey crystal-like things oozed out the top. I guess they were full when they arrived. I put both in my humidor, but the humidity level (measured using a digital hygrometer that appears to be reliable indicator) dropped quickly. I tried topping them off again, to no effect. My next experiment was to leave one in the humidor, and one outside, while continuing to use my old sponge humidifiers. When it came time for the Sunday top-off, the DryMistat had failed to maintain the humidity level (i keep it around 75%; it ranges up to 80% with a fresh top-off, and drops to around 65% by week's end). I went through a few cycles of this, but the DryMistat appeared to do nothing (yes, I have the perforated cap installed). My photo shows the DryMistat that's been kept in my moist humidor for a month on the left, and the one that sat out in my very dry study for the same amount of time - by which time I would expect it to be severely dried out. See a big difference? Me neither.I'm a bit perplexed as to why my experience is at serious odds with that of others who have reviewed this product - but clearly I'm not the only one who's had difficulties with it. If you're a scientist and want to play with weird gooey crystals and experiment like I did, by all means give these a try. However, if you're looking for a simple solution to maintaining your humidor's environment, I would recommend something a lot simpler than these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well once you get it set up right.

Not quite 70% but I was aiming for 69 so that's fine. (edit: went up to 70% after the temperature went up to ~67)Two things to note, because a lot of people are saying it doesn't work1. they come sealed with a cap that has 0 holes. you need to remove that and put the cap with holes on it for it to work2. all of mine leaked before they arrived and i had to refill them with DISTILLED water (like 1$ for a gallon at walmart). Also, it's kind of hard to see where the water line is. To refill, add a small amount of distilled water and squeeze the tube a little bit. Not only will this work the water down through the "crystals", but the bubbles will tell you where the water line ends.
