IM not one who has much patience for isntructions, and I did not need any of that when setting up the time/alarm.. easy to use and self explanitary#2 the actual clock is a great asset to a modern room. I was looking for something that wont look very clocky, for a modern room. This definitely blends in to the whole room#3 - serves as a nigh light as well. I do not have a night lamp in my room but i do not like the complete darkness either. This is the perfect medium. The numbers are bright enough to light up my room the amount it needs to be and there are options for the brightness, can always be made brighter or darker#4 - great for time and date as well, there are many setting to choose from (display options). Great product!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pleased with this clock, because it does exactly what I want it to do. Basically the two categories of complaints people make about this clock are: 1. it's (deceptively) small, and 2. challenging to program. All that's required to avoid being "deceived" by it's size is for the buyer to check the dimensions of the clock (provided in the photos) to ensure it's going to be the right size for the space intended. There are other versions of this clock available in larger sizes if you want bigger. I wanted something that wouldn't be too overpowering, this size was perfect for my space, and I did not want white or blue numerals in my living room.Regarding challenges to programming. I sat on my sofa, read the instructions, installed the batteries and easily set it to the way I wanted. If I had not read the instruction sheet, I might have gotten frustrated. I like the auto-dimming feature during the evening, and don't use the date/temp option, or the 3 alarms, and I have it set for steady on, as I don't want everyone clapping to see the time. After programming it, I walked across the room and plugged it in. The batteries are for backup use, so I don't expect I'll have to reprogram this clock very often, but even if I do, I've kept the instructions. I worry about people who find this process "challenging". I guess I'd say that if you can read a bus schedule you can probably handle programming this clock. I didn't score the battery rating, because I'm not really using them, and it's brand new-so of course the battery life is fine right now. But for us, it's a perfect little inconspicuous clock that fits our decor well and stops people from having to ask "what time is it?"

We no longer have a DVR with a clock. I purchased this clock for it's unique look to replace it. The one I purchased was a 2018 version with seven levels of brightness. I set the level to one, which was sufficient. The instructions said the brightness automatically goes dim from 6pm to 7am, which is fine. However, every morning the brightness shows it being set to seven, which is way too bright. I find it frustrating to have to reset the level back to one each morning. I tried different levels, but it continues to revert back to seven. I thought maybe the clock was defective, so I purchased a 2019 version, which stated there were three levels of adjustment. I received the same clock as the first one and it is doing the same thing. I could not find anything to correct this issue and I am returning both clocks. I like to look, I just wish the clock worked properly.

OK: I knew going into this purchase that there might be some issues with set-up. I read quite a few reviews and came to the conclusion that I could probably figure this out: this would not be the first time I purchased an aesthetically-pleasing clock with badly-written or badly-translated instructions.When the product arrived I was not disappointed: the instruction sheet is TINY, with what I assume is native Chinese on one side and the English translation on the other. I had difficulty even reading the instructions so I scanned and enlarged it using Photoshop. (HINT: that helped a LOT.)After laughing uncontrollably for a few minutes at the ridiculousness of the English translation, I set out to decipher it and turn it into a text document that would help others, as well as myself in case I needed clear instructions at a later date. After about forty minutes of work, I am happy to report that I have a (more-or-less) decent set of instructions for this clock.READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!If you start programming the clock too soon, you will end up in a "black hole" which will require a reset. Trust me on this.Plug the clock into a wall outlet, and BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, be sure the clock is set to its default position. The best way to do this is to open the battery compartment and locate the (tiny) RESET button. Use a bent paperclip to push this button. The display on the clock should start blinking and then rotating through time, date and temperature settings.Another reviewer said the secret was to press and HOLD the SET button, but BEFORE YOU DO THAT, you need to figure out that you can cycle between the two display modes by pressing and RELEASING the SET button. DP-1 (display mode 1) will cycle through time, date and temperature over and over again. DP-2 (display mode 2) will always display the time.OK: now that you've cycled through DP-1 and DP-2 a couple times, be sure you selected DP-1. NOW it's time to PRESS & HOLD the SET button.The YEAR is displayed first: the default is 2015; use the UP button to change it to 2016. Then press SET.The DATE is next. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to change the month as needed, press SET, and then use the UP/DOWN buttons to change the date as needed. Press SET again to move to...TIME. use UP/DOWN buttons to set time as above. After you've chosen the hour and minutes, push SET.Now you can choose 12 or 24 HOUR CLOCK. UP/DOWN to choose preference; push SETALARMS ARE NEXT: sorry folks, I didn't mess with the alarms because I didn't purchase this clock to be an alarm clock. There are THREE alarms and you should be able to set the times for those in a similar way as setting the clock time. If you are not using the alarms, just push the SET button to get to the final setting. DON'T GO TOO FAST or you will have to repeat the entire cycle of settings again.After the alarms is the final setting: SOUND CONTROL.One reviewer thought this was a 5-day alarm, and I can understand why. The display shows "on:5d" which SEEMS like turning an alarm ON for 5 DAYS. However, that it NOT the case. "5d" is actually an approximation of SD, which is supposed to be an abbreviation for SOUND. So "on:5d" means SOUND ON, and "--:5d" means SOUND OFF.The DOWN button will cycle back and forth between sound OFF and sound ONThe UP button will cycle back and forth between Celsius and FahrenheitIf you wish to have the clock on TIME ONLY, now is the time to do it. Momentarily press and release the SET button:DP-1 = Time, Date, TemperatureDP-2 = Time OnlyONE MORE THING: There are FOUR Luminance (Brightness) settings on this clock: L0, L1, L2, L3.Between 6pm and 7am, the clock will AUTOMATICALLY reduce the Brightness setting (whatever it is) 50%.PRESS & HOLD the UP button to cycle through the Luminance Settings.I hope this helps. The clock is really kind of cool and inexpensive too, so it would be a shame for folks to not order it just because they thought they couldn't figure it out. this is exactly what we've been looking for. we replaced our cable box to one that has no showing time on it- which we loved. we had ordered a couple of different clocks and this one exceeded our expectations. the overall size, the size of the numbers, the sleekness, the options of changing the time to military, overall 5 stars!! highly recommend.

BRIGHT BLUE LED LIGHT SHINING IN YOUR BEDROOM ALL NIGHT? NO THANKS
Sorry to say that I am not that happy with this clock as not only does it looks cheap I can not use it as intended on my bed side table. The blue LED it is too bright to have in the bedroom at night and too pale to read in the daylight. Should I have known?!Also, this clock is not 'wooden' at all, it is wrapped in a plastic covering that has a kind of wood like look & colour.

Les instructions sont vraiment mal traduites et croyez moi, vous aurez besoin des instructions pour programmer cette horloge! J'ai trouvé le commentaire d'une utilisatrice qui a traduit intégralement le manuel d'instruction et cela à grandement aidé! Je ne comprenait pas pourquoi le degré de luminosité du cadran changeait tout seul. Il a fallu que je lise la traduction de cette autre utilisatrice pour le comprendre. Une fois bien programmé, il fonctionne bien. En espérant que ça dure!
USELESS-DO NOT BUY
The clock display flickers rapidly. Seizure-inducing and super distracting when you're trying to sleep. Now I must jump through a bunch of hoops to be refunded for a deficient product. Very disappointed with Bolo and the experience overall.
