Does this BT device have great sound? Yes2. Does it remember pairing? Yes3. After you disconnect from it with a iPhone, it won’t re-connect to the iPhone until you again select connect. That is a good feature. A similar Mii receiver product will quickly re-connect to my iPhone after selecting disconnect!4. It goes into standby after 10 minutes of no pairing. That is another good feature. A similar Auris receiver product continues in a constant pairing attempt mode!All the above, together, means that we don’t have unexpected BT connections of our iPhone audio to our surround system.

One week after initial use it got an oscillating thermal defective IC inside. Returned for new one.Replacement B1 is quiet and perfect after a week burn in. Any noise is so far in background it doesnt matter.INITIAL REVIEW:Nice packaging and the front LED is soft orange instead of blinding blue.Unit is solid and well built. Paired instantly. Always reconnects, stays put and follows orders with no hijacking.Using APTX codec from Galaxy phone thru B1 device driving a stock Douk Audio V3 headphone amp with AKG K270 phones.Powered setup as follows:Douk Audio amplifier is directly powered by 12.6 volt agm RV battery.B1 also wired to the 12.6 volt agm RV battery thru a 7805 ic regulator at 5.04 volts.Only at dangerously high listening levels are DAC sampling artifacts barely audible. Thier level above silence is completely inaudible at normal to high volume. I have to place my Galaxy phone within 7" of B1 to hear any phone RF noise. Metal case is good. Silence is golden.The sound quality of the B1 is as superb as all these reviews glowingly share. This is one of those audio products deserving of the term musical. With a B1 bluetooth is a musical option.I even tried this B1 into my RVs Kenwood KDC X305 aux input. It blows the Kenwoods onboard bluetooth away completely for sound quality. Night and day difference.This B1 sounds absolutely spectacular in std APTX codec. I never imagined being barely able to pry these K 270 phones off my head after 3 hours using Bluetooth. Time for a new phone with APTX HD.

Yo lo tengo conectado a un Musical Fidelity Trivista 21 y suena excelente.A destacar la facilidad de uso, no hay que estar encenciendo y apagando el aparato, una vez lo conectas te despreocupas, solo tienes que conectarte y funciona directamente. Una vez te desconectas el aparato queda en standby y listo para volver a usarse. Hacia tiempo que no compraba un aparato tan bien construido y pensado. Lo recomiendo sin fisuras.
High quality unit
Having experienced much difficulty over the years with bluetooth, I can say all is finally solved with the Audioengine B1. Set up is reassuringly simple and painless. Bluetooth connection is highly stable - no stutters, gurgles, drop-outs. Sound quality was a particular priority for me, and I can say that the onboard DAC performs very decently, feeding a satisfyingly well-balanced and detailed sound into my 1980s Kenwood stereo receiver. Presentation is warm and engaging - very listenable for general streaming, movies, Youtube etc. Sound stage is a little flat, and HF and LF extremes are rounded off, but only compared with much more expensive units. For critical listening, I send B1's optical out into a Chord Hugo 2 and Jungson JA-88D amplifier. Here the results are amazing. Indeed, I have trouble telling the difference with hi-res files played over a wired connection. If you have a really good external DAC, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. B1 is an unassuming looking little unit but it is well built. I'm loving it.

Le mode d'emploi est uniquement en anglais mais la mise en fonction du récepteur bluetooth est très facile, presque intuitive. La qualité du son est, pour moi, similaire à celle d'un CD, de très bonne qualité.Remarques :- une fois que l'on a déconnecté le bluetooh le voyant du boitier continue à clignoter pendant un long moment. Je ne savais pas comment l''éteindre, il suffit d'être patient et il finit par s'éteindre tout seul ;- lorsque j'ai passé la commande, j'ai cru qu'il fallait un adaptateur UK/France pour la prise secteur, je l'ai donc acheté. En fait, c'est inutile, la prise secteur est aux normes européennes. C'est vraiment dommage que cela ne soit pas indiqué dans le descriptif du produit.

Can't beat it for the money. Not the absolute loudest but what do you expect for the size and price. Connects very easily. Sounds really good. Perfect for streaming music from your phone.
