While the scent doesn't particularly smell like basil to me, it is still a pleasant scent and my family seems to like it. I have seen reviews saying that this particular hand soap was runny or watery, but it seemed to me to be the same consistency of other Meyer's liquid hand soaps that I use on a regular. It lathers well and leaves my hands feeling and smelling clean. Would recommend.

Who cares if Basil doesn't smell like actual basil? It's just a name and the scent - whatever it is - smells clean and fresh. This one happens to be my favorite and the one scent that made me a Mrs. Meyer*s fan. Surprised by the many negative reviews from customers who get headaches, etc., from the Basil fragrance. Maybe they have underlying health issues? Also note there are specific soaps for hands, dish, and general purpose. Other likable scents are Apple Cider and Rain Water (which I'm sure some customers will complain it doesn't smell like rain).
