I hate to admit this, but this Korean made Katsu sauce with pineapple tastes better than my homemade sauce! It has the traditional tomato paste base, but the added apple juice concentrate and pineapple give it a delightful tang that I really enjoy, and true to its promise, it pairs wonderfully with pork. I made Tonkatsu to review the sauce and I enjoyed it so much that I just wish the sauce came in larger volume containers because I'm going to use this up quickly. I'm sure this would taste equally delicious on chicken cutlets too and will try that next.This comes in a double sealed flip top bottle - a foil inner seal plus a clear seal over the opening as well so be sure to remove both before trying to pour it. While the bottle is labelled in Korean it does have an English label attached on the back with ingredients, nutritional information, and the warnings that it contains soybeans and wheat. It also uses high fructose corn syrup which is why I gave it four stars rather than 5. The best by date on the bottle I received is 10 months away, and the bottle doesn't specify how to store it but I think it should be refrigerated after opening. All in all, this is a delicious tangy Katsu sauce that provides good value for its price!

Secure, packaging, and fast shipping. However, the product reminded me more of A1 sauce. It definitely tasted like steak sauce. I wanted a more catsup based flavor.

This sauce is similar to steak sauce, but has more of an apple than pineapple taste to it that really makes it a nice addition to pork, but the sauce is also somewhat thick as well. As a result, you could also add other ingredients to this sauce to make it work even better with other types of meats as well. Breaded and grilled meats will work very nicely with this sauce, but it still has an import pricing to it, so it is versatile enough that you can do whatever you want with it and get the most out of this sauce as well. The product information lists it as gluten free. It is NOT. It clearly states on the ingredient list on the back of the bottle that is not shown in the product pictures, that this product contains wheat from the soy sauce used in its recipe. Wasted my money.
