I bought 2 pair of antique shoe trees, one pair was intact but the other pair was missing the nob used to pull the trees out of the shoe. I looked for knobs to use but found none with a wood screw thread. I located knobs that were the right side with a machine screw thread and then located these studs on Bolo. They worked perfectly and allowed to put the shoe trees into service.

I wanted to use drawer pulls to create decorative hanging hooks off a desk. But the typical drawer pull hardware would not work for that purpose. These did the trick by turning the drawer pulls into screw in knobs. Love how the project turned out. They lost a star because several of the items were not round (were more oval) at the end that needed to screw into the pull, so they were not usable. But I only needed 6 so was able to complete my project.

I have a greenhouse that I assemble and disassemble each year. I only need it up for about three months to get the plants started and the rest of the year I fold it flat and stick it against a wall in the garage. I use to use wood screws and that was great until the holes in the wood started to tear out and I was ending up rebuilding parts of the greenhouse every few years. Now I use studs (Hard-to-Find Fastener 014973171957 Hanger Bolts, 1/4-20 x 4, Piece-20) and these wing nuts (Hillman Fasteners 100Pk 1/4" Wing Nut 180249 Wing Nuts) to hold the walls and sides together instead of wood screws. It makes for quicker setup and tear down and no more rebuilding broken pieces.

Used them to attach a gate to a tree trunk. For my purposes it would have been easier if the machine-screw threads went all the way up to meet the wood screw threads in the middle. I had to use a ⅜-16 threading die and a good bit of elbow grease to accomplish this.(My personal rating scheme: 3 stars means "does what it's supposed to without major problems", 4 means "better than expected" and 5 means "surprises and delights with how good it is". I wish more people would do this instead of giving everything 5 stars for simply working.)
