5.0 out of 5 stars I liked the other L'Oreal Total Repair product so much that ...
I was so impressed with this product line that I went through my phone and pulled up some older pictures for comparison. But, let me tell you why I decided to try this.I've had thinning, aging hair now for about a decade. I'm in my mid-forties and I've always had dark, thick, curly hair. It's always reacted to processing by losing its curl and thickness. I can tell when I've gone too far and it's time to cut it when it loses virtually all of its curl and may have a little wave to it. It gets flat, stringy and limp.I've tried many, many products trying to restore my hair, with so-so results even with the most expensive products. I recently discovered Olaplex 3, the version you use at home, and it stopped the breakage and that was a major score. Once I added L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge treatment, the curl started to come back. I was floored. In all my experience, I'd never actually been able to reverse the damage, just slow it down. So, I liked the other L'Oreal Total Repair product so much that I decided to try this one. I was not disappointed. Between the three products, my bleached hair now looks like it did when I was in my 20s - full, thick, and very curly even though it's now blonde. I'm not kidding. I've uploaded pics for you to see for yourself so you can decide. One note if you want to bleach, and this is important because I didn't understand it until recently. If you're going from very dark to very light, do it in stages. If you only lighten 2-3 shades at a time you can avoid a lot of damage. It's worth the wait because you won't fry your hair. Bleach, wait until your hair is somewhat normal again (2-3 weeks, typically) use hydrating products, and when you're ready, only do 2-3 levels again. It's worth it.Anyway, here are the photos. The ones with dark roots show the flat, limp hair from about 3 months ago, give or take. The lighter roots in the "before" photo show a little more life, as this was after bleaching my roots and after using the first L'Oreal product and Olaplex. The last, "after" photos, are today after yet another bleach, toning it, and using this balm after washing out Olaplex. I was so surprised that I started digging for photos because I figured no one would believe me. Good luck with your own hair, and I definitely recommend this line!!(Please excuse the wet hair swept back in the after photos, I'm currently in the process of dying the length a smoky mauve with Lunar Tides Smoky Mauve dye. :)
5.0 out of 5 stars The best leave-in treatment
I have been using this product for 3 years. It leaves my hair soft and manageable (easy to brush). The best is that this product does not make my hair oily and of course it smells amazing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Leaves hair soft
! Sometimes after using other conditioners, my hair does not feel as if it has been conditioned. With this conditioner, my hair always feels very soft…great product!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but the jar design could be improved
I really like this product and have been using it for many months now. I use it in the shower and leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing out. Good results - softer hair, decent shine, no weight. The only thing I don't love is the size/design of the jar itself. Using it in the shower, I'm opening it with wet hands, and it's bigger at the top than at the bottom and just kind of clumsy to open. I'm always worried I'm going to drop it and spill it all over the tub. Other than that, great product which I will continue to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best stuff ever!! Blows the expensive brands out of the water!
I am the queen of products. I have an insanely unhealthy number of products for my skin and hair, many being very expensive brands or products only sold to the trade, but this is the absolute best treatment I have ever used, hands down. Better than my $100 Frederic Fekkai 3 part treatment. Better than my $70 Shu Uemura masque! Better than everything! I cannot believe it's an affordable drug store product. It's awesome.I have colored, highlighted, bleached, over processed curly hair that I blow out and/or flat iron regularly. In short, my hair takes a beating! If I just let my hair air dry it's a super curly, frizzy mess...sort of like Shirley Temple but WAY less cute! But this product is game changing. After using it, no matter how I choose to torture my hair that day, it's soft and smooth. And if I let it air dry without really styling it and with nothing but this product in it, it's actually borderline acceptable for me to be seen it public! That's never happened ever with any other product before. Normally a paper bag over my head would be in order!I think the most telling thing is that my hairstylist (the one that sells me all the $70-$100 products!) completely noticed a difference once I started using this. She did say that hair is "finicky" (her word exactly) and what works on some might not work on others (afterall, she has to rationalize recommending the $100 product to her other clients!) but she couldn't get over the change in my hair.So now I'm a total convert...you don't need to spend a fortune on luxury brand hair products in order to see results! If you're on the fence, give this a try - it's not a huge investment and while hair is "finicky" and this may not work for you, fingers crossed it will and you will have game changing results like me!! Yay!
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
Have always loved L'Oreal products. As I have gotten older (63), and with frequently having to color my hair. I have developed dry fly away hard to manage hair. I have always had rather thin straight baby fine hair. I also have very medium skin, not dry or oily. So I only wash my hair every 3-4 days or so unless it needs it in between. My hair is long and I usually wear it in a ponytail or clip it up since I do a lot of work outside in the Texas heat. I decided to give this a try and I love the result. Before each shampoo, I'll spritz my hair with some water them apply the mask. I have left it on for up to an hour getting involved in whatever project that I'm working on at the time, but it's usually about 20 mins or so.When using the application before coloring my hair, I definitely make sure I keep it on longer. I do wet my hair more thourouly. I only apply it to the 3/4 bottoms of my hair shafts. I only apply my color to my roots & the mask would interfere with the coloring process. With this process, I definitely make sure I keep it on for at least and hour. I end up with silky smooth shiney hair with no fly aways.I'm very impressed with this product and I have recommended it to several of my friends and family. Way to go L'Oreal.
