This is probably our 3rd Skylanders series product that we have purchased. The trap idea is pretty cool! Definitely another way for the company to make money. You need new Skylanders to get into some of the areas. We knew this, of course, as we have purchase previous sets. Game play is relatively easy and is fun for my 12 year old daughter. As an adult, I like it as well. This isn't a high end graphics game, but you can easily spend a lot of time playing.We were not happy about the Xbox One situation though. We were excited to play after opening presents for Christmas. After about 2 hours of waiting for the disk to load into the XBOne we gave up and decided to play the next day. This is not a knock on the product, but the XBox One.

This is a great game! It was a Christmas gift for my 4 year old grandson. He absolutely loves it and he quickly figured out all the controls.The game is very entertaining from spectator standpoint as well. When there is a bad guy in a trap, the trap will light up and you can hear the bad guy talking. My grandson is also able to touch a button and play as the bad guy for a short period of time.

The portal is not recognizing the characters. I plugged it all in the game sees the portal, and the portal lights up. The games started, and after the video the guy says "where is my skylander buddy" (or something to that effect), so my kid puts the blue lizard guy on there, and nothing happened. So we tried unplugging it, restarting the game, we tried putting most of his 50 some odd other characters on it, to no effect.I don't know if I should return it, or just buy a replacement portal.

We bought this for our 6 year old for Christmas. He loves it! It is a great gift for a child that loves video games. Age appropriate content and makes birthday gifts easy as we can just buy a new Skylander figure or trap for the game. He can also figure the game out on his own with out help, which for me is great because I don't play video games and can't ever help him on games that he gets stuck on.

the in game audio and cut scenes are buggy like I hear Spanish and English dialogue at the same time and when I brake stuff in game it's like u hear it twice but the portal works at least but the game needs to be fixed I have not seen anyone else have this issue and it's not fixable I tried everything

My son likes to play it as much as the previous Skylander games, and it would have gotten 5 stars, if it weren't for a whole new way they found to make you pay for additional figures, and now traps. In previous games any figure of a certain element could open the special gates. In this game, only a Trapmaster of an element can open gates. And instead of two of this new type of figure, the starter set only comes with one. SwapForce at least had two of the special figures in the starter set, and again - gates could be opened by anyone of the right element. So while my son loves it (and its fun enough for adults to join), can already see him spending most of his allowance on additional figures. At least they are a lot cheaper than the Disney Infinity ones ...

A great Warehouse bargain, game came with everything I needed and at a great price. It's a lot of fun, the wife plowed through it in a few days. The Trap Masters are expensive if you plan on unlocking everything in the game - look out for pre-owned deals from Gamestop periodically, or do what we do, jump on the bandwagon a year after the newest release!

Much better graphics than the xbox 360! I was totally impressed by the look of everything in the game compared to the 360! Almost looks like little plastic models running on your screen in their own little world! Pretty sweet game and the kids love it too, lol!
